I don't think people who can afford the nice new houses are wasting their time with these people, seriously.

Most of the people who can afford houses that cost as much as a new PH McMansion are looking somewhere else, seriously.

Where can you get a new home with excellent schools, inside the beltway, near 2 metros, a neighborhood with mature trees and sidewalks, near 66, 495 and GW parkway for 1 million or lower? Please tell me!

It's not near the GW Parkway. Maybe you meant the Dulles Toll Road.

5 minutes is near. 3 miles max

Or you could just admit you meant the DTR. Proximity to GW Parkway is not a selling point for Pimmit Hills.

Really? because GW Parkway is my route to/from work every day downtown or, shall I say, to the district.

NP here. PH is a lot of bang for your buck - new house, good schools, knock downs every day - no where to go but UP baby!

Except for the poster of the other threads who can't afford it, of course......

depends on your definition of "good school". As a matter of fact, that's the biggest reason the houses there are more affordable than Mclean, Langley High houses.

Sorry - Marshall is better than McLean High and Langley High.

Honey, don't be sorry for something false.

These schools are good, but not the best. Again, that's why PH is cheaper.

For most kids the schools are functionally the same. The schools in PH have slightly lower scores because people there have a lower SES. If your child has a high SES, they will do well there. If Westgate had the same demographics as the McLean schools, it would likely have equivalent scores. It's an issue of demographics, not quality.

Get over your snobby self!

All the schools are fine. The PH poster(s) certainly seems to need more validation than people in the Langley and McLean neighborhoods, though. Guess Redfin and the dozens of other sites with the MLS listings just aren't good enough.

There are more reasons why PH is cheaper, it's definitely not because of schools. Arlington schools are not top schools according to scores, however, N.Arlington areas are extremely expensive.

All major routes lead to PH, no really they do it's a really good central location. It's also sandwiched between 2 metro stops.

The major routes don't lead to Pimmit Hills. They just encircle it. Not so great if you care about air quality.

LOL not you again. Ok let's hear it the cars are going to smoke out and kill the children in any neighborhood within 20 miles of a highway.

These architects need to study architectural history if they are going to be using historical elements such as quoins, brackets and keystones properly and in the right proportion. Yuck.

I am going to have to disagree about the yuck factor. The only critic of the home I can think of is that it should have maybe 2 more windows above the garage fascade. In fact I am rather pleased to see a home that isn't very narrow and deep with balancing windows on each fascade.
