Fairfax versus PG for new FBI Headquarters gets ugly

MD's aggressive push comes off as desperation; it's pathetic. VA officials sound more reasoned and less emotional.

I'm interested in what the GSA finally does here.

Why do you assume that the house gives the GSA a choice?

Why does FBI building have to be in the DC area?

I love the idea of distributing most of the current HQ staff out across the country. Let's do it. That is real equity... getting the money out of DC.

There are FBI buildings all over. The FBI headquarters, and the DC field office, should be in the DC area.

Because the FBI director reports to the Attorney General of the United States, who is based in DC.

Yeah they should move that FBI to Alabama and have the staff live in one of the more violent states. Makes PG look wonderful by comparison.

Makes sense to put the FBI headquarters in a state with some of the worst crime.

And they are still fighting about where to move the FBI.

Huntsville is wonderful! It would make a great new home base for the FBI

Yeah GSA was about to pick a site and then Trump came into office and didn’t want the FBI HQ to move and leave a big fat development site on Pennsylvania Avenue to compete with his hotel, and he quashed the whole thing. So here we are seven years later with Trump out of office and no longer owning the hotel, still having the same conversation.

Trump and Reid and many others. Land transactions with government bodies and any kind of stock ownership needs to be banned for office holders.
