[list]If. But the "If" here is not an option even open for discussion in my home. The program is for the kids who have a "need" not the parents who "need" their "needs" met. |

| Hi! I'm the Mom who REALLY doesn't care that two of my kids are Einstein type AAPers. Did I mention that my third kid is totally general ed and I still love her? Yup, she's a dumb ass just like your kid, and I always tell her how unimportant that is to me. You people just need to let go of AAP and let your kids be kids! |
no -- if the kid has what it takes he/she sould try to get in. If he/she does not have what it takes, it's a moot point. Either way, I agree you love them for who they are.

Thud. That was my forehead hitting the keyboard. Humor? Anyone? |

Ha! My kid is a genius, but I am an idiot I (incorrectly) posted this on the wrong thread:
IMO, the most ridiculous thing posted by AAP parents is All these tiger moms, preppers and appealers are ruining the program for the kids who really need it, the highly and profoundly gifted. Mind you, MY dear child is NOT profoundly or highly gifted. She got in with the minimum score, and is thriving by the way. But all these other kids being pushed into AAP by their tiger moms are ruining the program. Those poor 99.8 and 99.9 kids having to suffer in a class with the 97.9 kids. Really, 98 should be a firm cut off, no exceptions. |

OMG. BEST humblebrag EVER. And I love the responder who totally feels OP's pain. You can't make this shit up.

Thanks for the laugh. Others, please note that this is from a "parenting gifted children" thread, if you miss that you will miss the subtlety. Although how subtle is a toddler inventing New Italian? |

Maybe not most ridiculous, but here are some:
AAP does not guarantee Ivy League admission! (really?) Academic camps?!?! That is HORRIBLE. What a TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE thing to do to your child. Shame!!!! How can you live with yourself? I didn't even know about AAP or the NNAT or the CoGat and my DC got in all on his own. We are so easy, breezy, don't give a hoot and DC is just a genius. All you hand wringers must have borderline children. I didn't get into AAP, but all my friends I grew up with did, and I am doing BETTER than ANY of them! I am, I am! |
was this a real post or making fun of a post? |
| i think it was real. there are some here who simply can't grasp the point of this thread. |
I grasp the point of the thread. I just happen to find it really sad. So you spend hours cutting down AAP parents? Great use of your ever increasing free time. Pretty pathetic. I know, I know... you'll say I don't have a sense of humor or if I don't like the thread don't read it. That's your answer to anyone with a life. |
