I got that! But on the internet sometimes it's hard to tell you know.
|
Those scores are a little low compared to my DC's. But you just have to love them for who they are and not worry about such silliness as test scores etc.
|
|
My dc got a COGAT of 1 and a NNAT of 2.
I think that means he spelled his name rite. (get it, I misspelled it.) |
| There's a great one (can't remember which) were a parent is accusing one AAP school of having kids in it that are reading 2 years below grade level. |
I totally got it! Parody! Very Funny! I love my kids and don't care or even recall their scores (think it was in the ballpark of CogAt 148, NNAT 159, WISC Full Scale 152 with VCI 154, PRI 149, but I really don't recall because it's so unimportant to me). |
You left out the GBRS.
|
That's SO indicative of how unimportant it is to me! GBRS was 21, but I really REALLY couldn't care less! |
| Of course not. Could. Care. Less. Now did little snowflake get all O's on his report card too? Or was he twice double exceptional? |
That phrase ALWAYS makes me think of a double-stuffed Oreo. mmmmmm.... |
|
To non-AAP parents,
Don't click on an AAP thread. Signed by a well above borderline AAP parent. |
Why not? Some of us live in Arlington and find your handwringing to be hilarious. It's a great source of entertainment to watch all of these insecurities splayed nakedly on the chat board. |
|
When wannabe AAP parents transition to the situation after letters come in. Most AAP parents have no use for these discussions after their kid has gone through.
Fairfax county is über competitive and like it or not - that is what sustains our excellence. It is great that folks have strong opinions on AAP -either ways. The last thing we want is apathy. |
I find the people on the private/independent school forum more competitive, judgmental and scathing/snarky, so it's often tame around here in comparison |
| The SOL test given to the 6th graders in AAP this year is no longer any good because half the kids are failing! My DS scored great (98) on the Iowa in January and all we need is a pass advanced score on the SOL so he can take Algebra in 7th grade at Longfellow. FCPS should scrap the SOL score requirement this year. |
same situation here pp; I expected a pass advanced with no problem, but now not I'm so sure. So if DC only gets "passed" will that mean they don't get to take Algebra I next year? |
