Oh come on, you don't really believe that, do you? I would be the first person to say we should never ever have gone in there but we all know they want to keep the trashy tv, booze and porn: they just want it for the leadership only. |
Not in Afghanistan. Not every country in the middle east is the same. |
Oh women get to vote?? Did you know America was behing the rest of the world in giving women the vote? And women still do not have maternity leave like they do in a place like Swaziland And women in America fairly recently were even sterilized against their will And the victims of that sterilization cannot get compensation |
Bridging the cultural divide:
In DC, women shop at Burka's (liquor) In Afghanistan, women shop for burquas (no liquor). |
What is your point? Yes I know that our culture still does not treat women fairly. I'd still rather live here than almost anywhere else in the world. I'd still rather not live in Swaziland, or wear a burqa, thanks. There are bad people in the world and bad people in the US, no doubt about it. I'll still take my chances here. Maternity leave? Seriously? We have a culture that is still DEBATING women's reproductive rights. People don't want to pay for "sex" remember? Why would they pay for maternity leave, that's just the result of sex. More liberal coddling. |
PP, please go live in swaziland, since it sounds like a great place you admire! and obviously America is full of horrible pigs. But please, enjoy the world highest AIDS rate (26%), infant mortality of 70%, a polygamous household, and proclaiming that your country's primary export is hand crafts. Oh and, a life expectancy of 32 years old. |
Admit it, even Swaziland is more advanced as a society than we are
And educate yourself, the primary export is not hand crafts. |
How is it OK to lie about a country's infant mortality rate by that much? CIA factbook says it's 6% (CIA Factbook). IF you have to lie about statistics to make your point, maybe your point is not that good. Or maybe you should question the people who provided your propaganda. Or maybe you should question your own common sense. Honestly, 70%???? Who could possibly buy that number? If you just feed what is shoveled to you, you are the pig. Even sheep pick which grass to eat. |
Cracks are starting to appear in Bales' past:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/staff-sgt-robert-bales-was-found-liable-in-financial-fraud/2012/03/19/gIQA4Ni2NS_story.html?hpid=z1 Now that it is clear that he harmed a guy from New Jersey, maybe people will start to see his child killing for what it is. |
or really the PP meant to say infant mortality is 70/1,000 live births, which is actually pretty close to the number. but back to the question though, you are going to accuse that Swaziland is a better place to be based on the fact that they have some kind of maternity leave? pahlease. |
Well, US is ranked 34 in the list when it comes to infant mortality. I was surprised because I thought it would not have been that bad
I do not know if Swaziland is better, but at least they are on the right path |
