Right. The newletter report leads one to believe the board is considering the DCI. But, the board minutes (an official document) seem to indicate that the DCI has never been discussed.

Not posted, you need to go to the school and ask for them. Then wait three days, ask again. Ask a third time. Get a book with minutes, read them, take notes. Not publicly posted, sorry.

This is a great idea. It should be open, of course, to all students in the city, whether or not they have been in an immersion charter. Many of our bilingual students across the city have been chronically under served and this would be a great way to create stronger MS options for all.

The regular lottery system should be in play. No preference to the charters named. That would be unfair.

Because the proposal is an extension school of the charters named into a combined school the admittance process automatically includes students already enrolled, which is fair and makes sense in my opinion. Of course there will be a lottery for open spots, which there will definitely be spots as everyone wouldn't enroll and I assume the proposed school would have more seats/more classes added. If the named charters do all the leg work and are the administrators of the new school, the kids already enrolled in the lower schools should automatically get a place--that is the point of combining resources for middle and/or high school.

If they have no guarantee they can send their kids there, they have no incentive to create the school.

Sounds like sour grapes to me. Perhaps this poster got locked out of the charter schools named or chose not to attend and now see something possibly great on the horizon and want equal footing.

I don't know about the YY board minutes, but the PA minutes might. The administrators have certainly come to the PA meetings to talk about it.

The concept of the school is pretty good. Personnally I'm not sure how it is going to work or if it is going to work.
