Definitely agree with Against All Odds and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
But the one that I can't believe anyone mentioned is "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You". I definitely prefer the original version by Laura Brannigan to the remake by Michael Bolton, even if he did write the song. |
I think this one has been mentioned, but no one's mentioned the current Sam Smith "I'm Not the Only One"? |
|
Two of my favorites:
India.arie the heart of the matter (this is a cover but I lime her version and this whole album) Billy Joel And So It Goes |
|
Blame Game- Kanye West (this is the ultimate, best breakup song, IMO)... also Runaway by him.
I remember- Yeasayer I was a fool- tegan and sara Lies- Marina and the Diamonds Heart wants what it wants- Selena Gomez The ghost of you AND I dont love you- my chemical romance Gypsy AND Storms- fleetwood mac The Wire- HAIM |
James Taylor was with BritBrit?

Can I hang out with you guys? Put on our doc martens, dark eye makeup and go out behind the gym to smoke clove cigarettes. |
I'm down to join as well. But is "love will tear us apart" a breakup song? I always thought of it as more a depressed "makeup" or "being in a relationship" song, as in "eventually love will tear us apart." But maybe I'm listening wrong... |
|
Love Will Tear Us Apart is the clear winner. But apart from that...
Most of the time I’m halfway content Most of the time I know exactly where it went I don’t cheat on myself, I don’t run and hide Hide from the feelings that are buried inside I don’t compromise and I don’t pretend I don’t even care if I ever see her again Most of the time |

Tell me when you think that we became so unhappy, Wearing silver rings with nobody clapping. When we moved here together we were so disappointed, Sleeping out of tune with our dreams disjointed. It killed me to see you getting always rejected, But I didn't mind the things you threw, the phones I deflected. I didn't mind you blaming me for your mistakes, I just held you in the door frame through all of the earthquakes. But you packed up your clothes in that bag every night, And I would try to grab your ankles, what a pitiful sight. But after over a year, I stopped trying to stop you From stomping out that door, coming back like you always do. Well no ones gonna fix it for us, no one can. You say that, 'No one's gonna listen, and no one understands.' So there's no open doors, and there's no way to get through, There's no other witnesses, just us two. There's two people living in one small room, From your two half-families tearing at you, Two ways to tell the story no one worries, Two silver rings on our fingers in a hurry, Two people talking inside your brain, Two people believing that I'm the one to blame, Two different voices coming out of your mouth, While I'm too cold to care and too sick to shout. |
| It's cheesy but one of my faves is "all coming back to me now" by Celine Dion. |
That would have been an interesting pairing. But I've never heard him referred to as JT. |
|
It was his biggest album ever. Sold 3.5 million copies and won a Grammy.
