I don't know how you live your life with the guilt of knowing that you could have done something, but didn't.

I remember reading about when the prosecutor was talking the the jury and said something like that these weren't confusing cries, they knew that it sounded like someone was being murdered, yet they all thought someone else would call (as the screams went on for hours).

I thought there was security there saying they would take care of it or something but either way, yes they heard multiple cries for help and did nothing.

If this is true, I agree that it's bizarre for them not to have called for help. I also question what made Brittany snap. I recall seeing an episode on Snapped a few years back on the case, but it didn't answer many questions.

It’s in the court records that the Apple employees heard the screams for help. They admitted it.

Havent you people heard of The Bystander Effect and Kitty Genovese?

Based on your example, some of the employees would have done something. But keep excusing their horrific behavior that could have saved Jayna, with just one phone call from their secured store.
Genevieve?

TF are you talking about. The Bystander Effect is real. I will NEVER excuse anything about this case- Jayna was a friend of a friend. I can't forgive those cowards.

But talking about the Bystander Effect can raise awareness and hopefully people will overcome their first instincts and raise an alarm.

Yes and from the beginning people fingered Brandy as the killer and they were shouted down as racists, anti-women, and how dare they disparage a victim!

NP here, not from old thread. It is amazing how truly naive some people are. You can be a bleeding democrat and still know the truth, PP, it's okay. What rock do you live under? Have you ever been in Jayna's shoes? Have you ever been the victim of a hate crime by someone that looks nothing like you, is a different race, and hates you for no reason other than how you look? Probably not. But go ahead in your own little world, you seem to like it there. And I suppose you think OJ didn't do it, either.

+1

Other PP sounds extremely naive.

What? My first post was mentioning the Bystander Effect. That 100%does NOT excuse it. I'm just pointing out a fact of human nature that we all need to overcome.

The bystander effect may be real, but basically everything that everyone thinks they know about the Kitty Genovese case is wrong.
