How do you discourage dogs pooping on your lawn?

OP - make a sign in front of your yard. someone has it in our neighborhood. I think it works...

as for picking up poop - please clean up after your dog. we have a dog (and a fence) and there is nothing more annoying than coming from a walk (where I pick up after my dog) and finding someone's else dog crap in my front yard.

....not unless your dog is doing his business in that man's yard. That sort of makes it his business.
