No, law was changed in PA in 2020. Absolutely no marriage before age 18.

It’s probably not a great setup but also doesn’t make my blood boil you know? Some people aren’t going to develop much educationally anyway. Maybe it’s something that suits them.

I know that historically marrying girls off in their early teens was often done. But it doesn't mean it's right. It was convenient for patriarchies to have girls stay submissive and beholden to men, whether their father or their husband. So if society makes it look cool, what it means is that they're encouraging women to stay in that cycle.

I met my older husband at 19 and married him at 23, so I'm not against marrying young! But at least I knew what I was doing

My grandmother was 15 and my grandfather was in his 40s when they got married in Idaho. My greatgrandparents parents encouraged it because he was a hardworking man. They were strict LDS. My grandparents went on to have 11 kids. 7 daughters and 4 sons. My grandmother had a great marriage. When my grandpa passed, she didn’t want to talk to be with any other men—she loved him so much.

In comparison, My mom got married at 22, no college, dad was 31, and they had 7 kids by 34.

My mom was 15 and dad 20 when they married. Mom had a dozen siblings and was basically deputy mother there, homeschooling herself. Dad was a student in evening college and worked in an office during day time. Both migrated after war but dad by himself and mom with family. Both felt lonely and when relatives suggested marriage, both were happy. They built a good, upper middle class family and raised 5 professionals. Some times, these relationships save people.

If there is war or famine and not enough men available to support women who couldn’t and had no social network. It’s banned in most Muslim countries and only people who do it, misinterpret out of context and timed rulings for their own benefit.

Imho if you aren’t old enough to drive or vote, you aren’t old enough to marry. However, state should support, protect and trade train you to become independent.
