Could not pay me to go. He was extremely talented and had a tough childhood with his dad and expectations.
I get it. But . .

He was still a pedophile. And any movie that leaves this out is not telling his bio. It's white-washing his history.

Seems he was acquitted of those charges. I respect the judicial system and know he’s innocent. Just misunderstood. Tragic loss that he’s gone.

This is why I think people ignore the other allegations. That court case was obvious BS.

But maybe that's just me not wanting to believe. But being odd and not well-adjusted is different from being a pedo.

That is basically what his personal bodyguard for long time said in long podcast interview.

I think the 16-year-old is too old for Michael Jackson. Sorry!

My 11 year old and 17 year old could not wait for this movie and begged me to see it opening night. You're a moron. Sorry!

I think it was a joke about MJ’s proclivity for close “friendships” with pre-pubescent boys?

MJ is dead so the joke doesn’t even make sense. It’s not funny.

Acquitted does not mean "not guilty". It means the state couldn't sufficiently prove their case.

Further, there is a plethora of evidence, accusations, and eye witnesses that say he was, in fact, not "innocent." And I believe the victims.

And those of you insisting it's not a good movie...who died and made you the arbiter of taste? It's a movie, not a doctoral thesis. It's okay to watch things that aren't serious for a couple hours.

Yes, that is correct.

Correct for me as well. But there is also one key difference. I"m only early 50's so these two really were not in my cultural influence and knowledge the way MJ was. So I really didn't even know who they were until I was an adult.

- he was accused of and probably did some very messed up stuff
- I love his music!

And to learn that the movie brushes over the scandalous parts of his story… I don’t know if this is right.

(Actually, Bill Cosby is worse and therefore sadly I cannot support him by watching his shows anymore.)

+1. It’s not right but typical.

People treat Michael like they did OJ or Ice Cube. If you don't mention the terrible things they did, then it must not be true OR they just don't care about their crimes.

I hate to ask b/c I don't want you to ruin Ice Cube for me. But . . . what is he alleged to have done?

Acquitted does mean not guilty. As in he was acquitted because he was not found guilty.

Yes, that is correct.

I have not watched any of their movies since then.

The largest demographic that have seen this film so far are POC women 18-34.

The age part is the most interesting. The eldest was born in 1992. they literally were not alive when Michael iconically performed Billie Jean at Motown 25 or when the album Thriller came out. Their first memories of him where between “ Dangerous “ to “ Invisible “. He died when they were teenagers and under in 2009.

This group doesn’t care about MJs controversy’s since they probably where not old enough for them to really register, at least insufficiently enough to be overshadowed by his humongous celebrity at the time.

Discusting?
Your sentence is barely readable.

Do people really still think he was a pedo? After intense FBI investigations??
