Michael, the movie

Which reviews are you looking at? On Rotten Tomatoes it currently has 39% favorable reviews from critics and 95% favorable audience reviews. People are raving about the music and Jaafar Jackson's portrayal of his uncle. Not surprising that the critics are out of touch with what people actually like.

Most people have terrible taste, so this isn't the serve you think!

Culkin and other celeb kids say he never acted inappropriately. After all, they don’t need his money.

Or, you know, predators know not to go after high profile targets who can ruin them.

One of the plaintiffs admitted his parents told him to lie

If "most people" have terrible taste in your opinion, it's probably you who has the terrible taste.

But maybe that's just me not wanting to believe. But being odd and not well-adjusted is different from being a pedo.

I agree with this.

Both Culkin and Lisa Presley said nothing happened inappropriately.

Honestly!!! People are so naive.

100%

There’s a new story out about another family of victims. It has 95% on rotten tomatoes because the only people who are going to see it already decided to be ok with him being an abuser.

- he was accused of and probably did some very messed up stuff
- I love his music!

And to learn that the movie brushes over the scandalous parts of his story… I don’t know if this is right.

(Actually, Bill Cosby is worse and therefore sadly I cannot support him by watching his shows anymore.)

+1. It’s not right but typical.

People treat Michael like they did OJ or Ice Cube. If you don't mention the terrible things they did, then it must not be true OR they just don't care about their crimes.

I cannot believe people are still denying that MJ sexually abused children. Did you see Leaving Neverland? It was incredibly powerful and really just made it impossible to deny what happened to those poor men. Yes he made great music, and go ahead and listen to it if you want, but it's just cruel and delusional to pretend like what happened to them didn't happen.

Of course, you can't see Leaving Neverland now b/c the Jackson estate sued HBO and made them take it down.

Admittedly I haven’t seen it but I curious as to how they explained testifying under oath on MJs behalf and waiting four years after his acquittal and an additional ten years after his death to create the doc? And why then follow up with a 400M lawsuit?

It’s actually supposed to be fantastic. But what reviewer is going to say that?? Are you kidding. No one is going to publish a fawning movie about an accused pedophile.

It has the sheen of a generic biopic. What about it screams "fantastic" to you? lol

Nostalgia, music, storyline. Audiences like movies like that. I’m thinking of Top Gun Maverick. Remember how audiences loved that movie? It got a standing ovation when I went. Had all the feel goods that audiences were longing for.

Most people accept MJ as a pedophile. I think people are going to simply relive that era! To get the “feels.” Nothing more, nothing less.

I guess in the Epstein era it makes sense that people want to celebrate another pedophile. SMH

As the kids say it’s not that deep. I don’t know where you’re pulling “celebrating” from. Odd choice of words. It’s a movie. Fantasy. Entertainment.
