The Chelsea, Jane and Melinda are cute. A lot of the others would require you to be twiggy thin, I think.

I would love this if it was long enough to cover my ugly legs!

First of all, I bet your legs look great-- at the very least OK. This is quite relatable to me as I have very bad scars on my knees and when I look at that dress I can't help but wonder if I could get away with wearing Capri length leggings underneith.

I suppose it may look a bit jejune (my daughter had the Hannah Andersson tunics and leggings as kid) but on the other hand, I want to feel comfortable. I' not trying to look like younger than I am-- just wanting to keep my scars from being the first thing people notice about me.

I also have to wear supportive shoes-- like Hokas. So I want to wear a sundress, but also be able to wear such shoes. I have a theory that sporty looking dresses like this Boden one could work with this-- at least better than more feminine dresses. Like the Hokas aren't quite so out of place with a dress like this?

So--1) possible to wear leggings with this dress? and
2) possible to wear Hoka type shoes with this dress?

I also have terrible feet and let me recommend vionics sandals. That’s what I wear with my summer dresses. They also have a slip on sneaker that looks a little better with dresses than a real running shoe. My vionics sandals are really more comfortable than my sneakers — great arch support and heel cushion and I found one with adjustable straps that accommodates my very wide front of foot.

I don’t have this one but I have the jersey long sleeve shirt dress and the fabric is really comfortable and has washed well. I know a lot of people on this forum find Boden horribly unfashionable but I think they often hit the right note with stuff that is flattering, wearable and easy to care for. The shirt dress does a really good job of dressing up/down and I feel like this dress could also probably fit a couple different purposes depending on the accessories.

I would guess your IP address shows that you’re the same person who posted the tnuck dress. This is not going to be a good dress on anyone but the tall AND thin.

How are you seeing both IP addresses?

I can't see them. Jeff could. But they posted 6 mins apart, the second person 'enthusiastically' loving the first very vile posting. Seems a bit of a coincidence that someone "loves" that ugly dress but minutes after it was posted, late at night, on a sleeper quiet thread no?

10:49 is "late at night" for you? This explains so much.

DP. Is that supposed to be a dig? People who sleep are smarter and better looking than those who don’t, particularly those who spend the time trolling on the internet instead.

Oh, good grief. Yes, it was absolutely supposed to be a dig - at the obnoxious poster who insisted she knew who was posting "late at night." The point being, 10:49pm is not "late at night." No one is making a dig at you personally.

I have not posted any tuckernuck and find a lot of their things too preppy, but I tried this on last week in the store and plan to order it:

https://tnuck.com/products/navy-ponte-violette-column-dress

I also like the linen scoop neck dress from Banana Republic but can’t link it.

What does the fact I think it’s sad to spend the night hours snarking strangers have to do with a particular brand? Again, sleep will help you be more logical.

It’s pps thing. She spends nights wide awake posting about tuckernuck while the rest of the world is sleeping. It’s an all consuming tuckernuck obsession and it can’t stop, won’t stop, just because it’s the middle of the night- practically dawn (10:49pm)

Anonymous wrote:OP here. Thanks for the suggestions. I've looked at Karma East in the past, after seeing it recommended here, and it's not generally my style (the prints are a bit much and a lot of them are shapeless) but I like the Vivien style and may give it a try.

Title Nine I really dislike the prints (I probably should have mentioned I don't like loud prints). Some of the solids look okay but I already have similar athleisure-type dresses and don't really need more.

I like the Tuckernuck dress but not on me. Same with those inexpensive Amazon ones. Like the idea but I feel like you need to be tall and willowy to pull them off. I'm shorter and pear shaped so that kind of thing looks frumpy on me.

As an example of something I bought and liked:

https://evereve.com/products/kayleigh-knit-mini-dress-red?variant=45896527708325

Got this in both colors. It doesn't look like much in the picture but it's really flattering and comfortable. And inexpensive, cotton, bra friendly.

The Vivien dress is nice but it is a lot of dress if that makes sense. I get a lot of compliments when I wear it. I also love their Cora skirt.

My opinion-

1) no to the leggings - why don’t you try tshirt dresses that run to mid calf- here’s an example (Tuckernuck has one, too, but I’m afraid if I linked it I’d be accised of being a shill or a troll, haha): https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=886459002&vid=2&tid=onpl000078&kwid=1&ap=7&ds_agid=17394539939-&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=17394539732&gbraid=0AAAAAD_AT8smngmL_aLsmO9UzRsIFIyIP&gclid=CjwKCAjwhLPOBhBiEiwA8_wJHIgZ9x2cdHU9WrVviJIN0YVEtg7KRGoyk5Qo2wXiDZJtKtZKfjWZjBoCwLEQAvD_BwE

2) probably yes to the Hokas, but may depend on the Hoka style/color you have

Thanks for the link to Old Navy-- dang, there are a lot of good options and quite inexpensive!
