These are nine year olds who still argue about Capri Sun flavors and forget which way they are supposed to run after halftime. Half the roster probably tied their cleats wrong and one kid is definitely picking dandelions at left back. Yet here comes a full blown victory lap on social media like a dynasty has been established. Relax. They are kids. The trophy is roughly one juice box away from being traded for Pokémon cards.

The truly impressive part is the level of self congratulation required to turn a group of elementary schoolers chasing a ball into some kind of personal achievement. Unless the post also includes “I personally ran every sprint, scored every goal, and drove the minivan,” maybe let the nine year olds just play soccer without the LinkedIn style press release about it.

Why are you so upset about a 2015 team getting some recognition for their hard work is a better question

Well, there's some recognition and then there’s this

Wait until you see the U-2s! Once they learn to run without tipping over, they are going to be incredible! Better than incredible in fact!

These kids are 11, Cavan Sullivan was on trial with Borussia Dortmund at 12. Most academies in Europe start at U-9 (I was raised in Europe).

Not saying any of these boys are Cavan or on track for the Premier League, but the idea that a U-11 team should just be dismissed as babies and people can't appreciate their talent and hard work feels unfair.

*I am also not associated with this team in any way*

I agree with you to a point - the problem is everyone thinks they're the special team at this age when 99.9999% are not

Then you know most kids who go on trial at medium to "big" clubs aren't accepted. Then more, who are accepted, are let go at relatively quickly. As opposed to here, if your kid is terrible you can still pay someone to have them on a team.

Every year, at this age group and younger, there are random parents who think their kid's team is a "powerhouse". The same kids, quit, don't phyisically mature, skills don't become better players or move to another team.

The idea that a parent made such a ridiculous post to begin with is what most people here are mocking. Seriously. It was stupid. It shows they are new and ignorant of the youth game.

Your European passport should be allocated to a motivated American. In Europe, they don't focus on the league table at this age. I thought BSC was supposed to be the best in this area. Yet, they have a coach who maxed out at what you call Division 3 college using wins as a measurement of development. At U11, my kid was required to meet juggling benchmarks, passing efficiency tests and other technical benchmarks. That mattered, not wins. If what these parents are saying is true and this is a coach talking, this is pathetic to focus on winning and why America struggles.

The opponents of the powerhouse read this thread. They forfeited before the game then layed down to die.

Don't listen to these two PP! They're controlled opposition. The 2015 powerhouse is #1 in the nation. They are going to win it all.

They are definitely not #1 in the nation anymore. I said this post would not age well but I had the over/under at two years not two weeks.
