Its really as simple as the most talented soccer athletes within say a 50 mile radius choosing to play on that team.

Its not really about anything else because their B team isnt even good, so its not the club.

If only it was that simple! I'm not a parent on that team or connected to BSC in any way, but I've seen them play and know what I'm talking about. They are well-coached and the environment seems fun and positive. So they enjoy playing, which is the most important thing! They play in a style that will help them in the future. They are not just a bunch of big guys for their age, but they do seem exceptionally determined. They are making the most of their indoor training facility to improve their technical skills and that gives them the freedom to play with more possession. I'd say a lot is attributable to the coaching - and the coaches are not typical BSC coaches in terms of their attitude. If I had a kid in this age group, I'd be trying to get them on this team.

Dear TM & TM,

I actually thought this thread was another delusional YDP BSC parent until this post. The PW and Achilles parent's don't talk like this. We all train with the same 4-5 trainers in MoCo and 5-6 trainers in NoVa and none of those parents are that ignorant at that level. We understand that you need to pay for the facility and are forcing the private trainers into your space but we are not interested in your expanded training opportunities at the facility under the BSC umbrella. We all know the develop happens at home. There are more than enough patrons on BSC 2-5th teams for your programming. Kevin Duranting with this post is extremely embarrassing. Do better.

PS: fix the bathrooms

Can't wait to see this alleged powerhouse on the field. It's not my age group, but I never heard they were even good. Lol smh

I was there watching the 2017 kids yesterday scrimmaging and I was shocked to see how well they were passing the ball and moving into the open spaces. It was fast and basically 1 touch. If it wasn’t first touch it was because the kid had to make a move to buy some time before making the pass. I found out Bethesda doesn’t even put all their best players onto one single team. They take like their 14 best players and split them into 2 teams. Then they fill out the rest of the teams with second tier kids. Then they have a pretty good Bethesda 3rd team and then an average 4th team. If Bethesda put a their 14 best kids into a team they would crush everyone. I’m not a Bethesda parent. My son plays for another club. But I’m looking to change so that’s why I was there

Not accurate.

What is not accurate? On how the teams are structured?

I hope parents aren’t reading this and thinking their kid is behind bc they aren’t as amazing as these kids yet.

Every age group has teams similar to this (Bethesda has been around a while) and you should ask where those kids are now.

To put it in perspective, I chatted with a couple of parents of top players (eg USYNT talent ID invitees) in my DS age group who told me that their players never took private or small group lessons until U12. Lots of touches pre-U12 but not in the structured, scheduled way that seems to be dominating social media feeds these days.

This is hilarious.
Just a random observer, folks!

How, and why, are you watching a team of 10-11 year olds scrimmage if you aren't a team parent or have a kid at the club and happen to see them while your kid's team is practicing nearby. Do you often show up to watch random teams of 5th graders practice?

This is either a staff post or a troll post. On the slight chance it is legitimate, it makes you sound like a weirdo.

There's an art to being a staff member posting as a parent. This ain't it.

I took a moment to watch the u7 juniors practice and came away impressed. The crisp passing and sound decision making was amazing. I’d be surprised if those kids couldn’t run the table in the top u9 NCLS division. Good things coming…

The U6s are even better, definitely 3-4 PL quality players in the group.

Wow what is wrong with you? The level of aggro is insane. This is a good team. The top level of soccer in the dmv is a small pool and most of us know the other teams. The 2015 BSC team deserves respect and it’s impressive that the coaches are getting them to that level without being jerks. Why is this making you go crazy?
