Yep VIX touched 29 Friday which is soft buying time |
Literally why we won’t see any huge drops. Tons are sitting on sidelines with cash. |
| Index funds mean we have most shares locked up and pricing is set by the fanboys bidding up their favorite stocks with thin trading and almost no sellers. |
| Tonight's future marker is showing we have yet to hit bottom, more declines expected tomorrow when the market opens. |
Lucky you, Trump's horrific economy for jobs and a spouse without a job means we cannot even put money in our 401k right now. |
Sorry to hear that. Hope things turn for the better for your family. |
Thank you |
1-2 point declines for Dow, S&P and some other indexes. Japan is down 1.5% right now. |
I see -6% for Japan? Reverse watch dollar/yen, reverse carry trade about to blow up too. |
| Black Monday anyone? |
you are correct. Not sure what I was looking at. |

The circuit breaker will likely be activated at some point tomorrow
And I. Uncertain time like this people are not chasing the dip. They want to preserve capital But guys why isn't the dollar up 20%? IMO that's the biggest take away. |
Yes, there is a discussion right now that because of expected high inflation it's not that much up. Franc is now a safe currency, with some others. |
| Only fools will sell anything now. This could all be over next week. And market will jump 5% in a day. Not saying it will happen but history has taught me not to panic and just ride it out. That strategy has made me richer than most chicken headers trying to time the market. |
Agreed, it's not good to try and time things for vast majority of people. But a market drop is inevitable with all the spending that's been dumped into the LLM black holes, and now future revenue projections are going to be down across the board with higher energy costs. I also don't think the market really priced in the harm to long term growth from the destruction of federal agencies/research, or the cutting off of the flow of immigrant labor. Will be part of the cause of recession, as both the LLM/data center spending will drop significantly, and the rich people who drive consumer demand growth now cut back with market losses. |
