Reminds me of all of the opinion writers who advocate for "the trades" while sending their own kids to liberal arts colleges. |
My point is that you should understand all the qualifiers and contradictions in your quoted post. Of course some Mennonites have historically married their cousins. And it probably happened just today, too (Congratulations Amos and Rebeccah!). That doesn't mean that it is generalizable across any kind of representative section of traditional Mennonites. Take a statistics class some time and you'll understand. |
If it's the same thing, there's no need for a rebranding. |
It's a group of guys selling other guys "the truth." The truth being marketed usually centers around the idea that women don't know (or won't say) what they actually want from men. The salesmen assert that they know what women actually want and will teach the other men that truth and how to attract women. The lore that's built up in this area relies a lot on old pick-up artist and incel notions about women wanting, despite what they say, "alpha" men who will dominate them, neg them, and generally push various buttons that will make the women want sex. Meanwhile, men who believe women when they say they want caring, supportive, funny men with good personalities who treat them as equals are your "betas." These are the guys that women settle with for resources but, in their heart of hearts, the women aren't sexually attracted to these guys which is why they'll make the men jump through hoops, have mediocre sex with them, and ultimately end up in dead bedroom relationships. |
I don't want to get marriage advice from someone advocating a culture that marries their cousins. No need to derail a whole thread to praise your religion that practices marrying cousins. Sorry not sorry. |
"Betas" seem to get the girl. "Alphas" are single, selling their podcast to other single dudes. |
| Trad wife means traditional wife. Meaning stay at home wife. People want to stay at home when they have money and when they don't care about their kids doing anything more than a blue collar job. The rest of the world cares about money. Not caring about money is either a luxury or a decision to live middle to lower class |
Wasn't Charlie Kirk one of those guys always going on about the 'body count'? And then he marries a 31 year old divorced woman who used to be on reality tv who has a PhD. |
Lol, I don't like her either but these are not facts.
|
So you think women should not work…so they can be available for the 3 hours a school year that parents get to visit their kid’s classroom? There are definitely reasons to stay home or work part time (that’s what I do) but this is not one of them. |
I'm not seeing a prior marriage. She was apparently the love interest of Jordan Verroi in Season 3 of a reality TV show called "Summer House." She got a political science degree at Arizona State and got a "degree" from Liberty University (if you want to count anything from that place.) Looks like she didn't get married to Charlie until she was 32. In addition to her reality TV stint, she's worked as a pageant contestant, a podcaster, a clothing brand promoter, something to do with a Bible app, and a real estate broker. So, by all accounts, not the kind of life being pushed on young Christian women. |
I think that pp is getting the Kirks confused with that other guy (I cant recall his name), but he cheated on his wife with his current wife who was also married/divorced or something. They have like 7 aryan blonde kids between them. Erika Kirk told a lot of stories about how she moved and her roommate was dating and she was soo disugsted about how she would go for coffee or drinks with one guy and then dinner with another guy. Meanwhile Erika was on a whole ass dating show while claiming she didnt date

I had to look it up - Pete Hegseth. He's out there preaching family/conservative values, meanwhile while he admitted to having 5 affairs while he was married to his first wife. He married one of the APs. While he was married to 2nd wife/AP, he got another married woman pregnant, divorced 2nd wife/old AP and then married new AP. So three wives, and his newest wife is also a cheater with multiple baby daddies. But this f^&*er wants to lecture people on family values? Oh c'mon. |
|
Among the family values set, there's never any real restrictions on the men at the top of the hierarchy. In the extreme cases, the guy can just get a revelation or something permitting multiple marriages and raping girls.
Less extreme cases, you can leave your terminally ill wife for a new, younger model and then go out and lecture the public about family values. |
