| Expecting a rejection as well. In state not over 4.4 gpa. He has good rigor but 4.36 gpa |
Same. In state, 4.38, lots of rigor. High test score though, but I don’t think UVA cares about test scores at all. I will report back. |
They might this year with Trump down their throats about merit. My 2024 was accepted with a 4.36 early action (4.48 eoy) 35 ACT, 5s all APs. He was at a private high school (not a fancy one). |

So I put together all the stats that UVA has already released per College Navigator:
UVA ED 5,108 Total applications 1,225 Overall Admits 3,077 VA Apps 766 VA admits (25% admit rate) 2,031 Out-of-State Apps 459 OOS admits (23% admit rate) ---------------------------- UVA EA 57,495 Total EA applications 7,151 admits 8,480 deferred 13,445 VA applications 3,071 VA admits 23% VA admit rate 44,050 OOS applications 4,080 0OS admits 9% OOS admit rate |
| ^wow OOS early ED was the way to go for OOS if first choice. |
In-state ED didn’t add any benefit because re recruited athletes are in the ED group—so EA and ED about the same chances. |
And not much difference for in state. |
Why on earth would you say that? |
Has to be unweighted because SCHEV tells us the weighted is a 4.5 at the 75th percentile and a 4.4 at the median. |
|
northern VA public, kids school's scatter plot shows that weighted GPA of 4.55 ish with 1480 sat for EA gets the kid in.
Good luck to all ... my kid had to withdraw so will never know. |
My understanding is UVA includes recruited athletes in the EA numbers. |
Because that's what their CDS says. |
+1 It's competitive to get in, but way more so for OOS. I think they've always been pretty up front about that. I guess is someone never looked at the statistics before, they might be surprised, but otherwise, the numbers are expected. |
If you've listened to their presentations, they always say that rigor and grades across all four years is more important than the tests. |
No it doesn’t. Nor does SCHEV |
