No one’s hours be doing that. All applications should be completed as though all others were rejections. You don’t wait until after EA to submit.

Lots of state schools have EA notifications this Friday along with UVA - UMD, UIUC, NCState, etc. It's when the EA notifications roll into February that they start to blend with RD decisions...
VT and JMU already released EA decisions.
