Important correction to your title, PP. They didn’t say no more warrants; they said no judicial warrants. That means no warrant signed by a judge which is the gold standard. They would still need a warrant but it would be issued by ICE so would have lower standards presumably.

A judicial warrant isn’t the “gold standard.” It’s the constitution. An “administrative warrant” is just a piece of paper signed by a bureaucrat. It has no legal significance.

+1 An administrative warrant is from the executive branch telling ICE which is also part of the executive branch that something is permissible. The entire point of a judicial warrant is that another branch needs to weigh in. You know, checks and balances like most of us learned about in elementary school.

It's not even that. ICE agents themselves sign the "administrative warrant." The "administrative warrant" doesn't give an ICE agent any power he didn't already have. An ICE agent can arrest an illegal immigrant who has a final order of removal and who is in a public place with or without the "administrative warrant." They are literally useless pieces of paper.

This is definitely a possibility, and I believe the reason Palantir is collecting information on all Americans. It will give them (maga regime) the power to focus in on any American who speaks out against the regime, target them, invade their home and arrest them without a warrant. Don't know what the timeline is for this, but they are working toward creating an entirely MAGA white USA with anyone of dark skin pushed to the margins or the servant class or expelled from the country.

Crazy, to say the least, and impossible to achieve, but that appears to be the maga regime's ultimate goal. Oh, and women will be baby makers, and nothing else. No rights, no vote, nada.

I'm not a lawyer but if this policy is allowed to stand, wouldn't the government be able to use it with citizens as well as non-citizens? I mean, if they open the door to allowing for the suspension of the practice of requiring a judicial warrant to enter someone's home, couldn't they suspend it for EVERYONE?

YES. I am a lawyer, and yes. Those who feel ICE's actions do not affect them, will learn (and it will be too late by then) that all along these constitutional erosions are coming for YOU TOO. It's not going to be just immigrants, it's not to be just people with brown skin who are here lawfully but still being persecuted, this will ultimately be alllll of us, everyone, whose rights will be repressed in different ways.

It's not just brown people. White people need to understand that this is coming for them too. You might not be number one on the list, but that oft quoted poem is right. Don't wait to stand up until there's no one left to help defend you.

It turned up in a used phone vending machine. Not clear how precisely it moved from ICE to whatever company operates the machine. There have also been reports of agents simply appropriating detainees' vehicles and being seen driving them--might provide a good supply of extra license plates.

Also: The $50K being offered to new ICE recruits functions more like a loan than a traditional sign-on bonus.
According to the fine print (which most of them likely did not read🤭), agents must serve a requisite 5 years.

If they leave for any reason (they resign or are terminated) before completing this period, they must REPAY any bonuses & overtime based on the time served.
