Our PSD just said everything was “all set” and that there wasn’t anything to worry about.

Also curious what school this is, because our top two were not giving a "yes" to our PSD, and she has yet to say "you have nothing to worry about." She also said that she talks to heads of other preschools and they are in the same boat with some schools.

All 3 schools were “ all set” ? I thought people usually only get offer from 1 of them.

No, only one of those schools. I just don’t want to jinx it.

Fair to say that no one has definitive feedback from B yet?

Correct. They gave us very very strong feedback through this week “strong candidate/ strong consideration.” But no definite Yes. Our PSD also airs on the side of caution and would not say “you have nothing to worry about your in” unless that school explicitly stated that. These schools change their minds all the way up until decision day. And if they are a ISAAGNY school the are not allowed to give a yes (so like Chapin and Spence for example).

Applying next year as an unconnected family from a TT private school. Does it help if your child got to round 2 for Hunter?

Help what? Hunter doesn't come up unless you mention it, which would be awkward.

It doesn’t get you in if that’s what you’re wondering. And I wouldn’t bring it up because it’s irrelevant if Hunter is this year and you’re applying to private next year.

Are you applying from a TT private to a TT private for MS or HS?

Or do you mean a feeder preschool to TT private for K?

Like with what others said, I don’t think round 2 Hunter would give you a huge boost.

Brearley is a mess. They pretty much pushed out the admissions people last year because of their new focus on anti-racism and Belonging. It used to be they knew what kind of girl would succeed with their curriculum and would tell you within like 12 hours of play dates and after the past three years, they don’t even know what they are teaching one semester to the next. The high school reads terrible books no one has heard of and there are no history textbooks. It’s a shit show — the way they treated winnifred (old admissions head of almost 30 years) is just indicative of how ruthless and corporate the place has gotten in the past four years. It’s corrupt as all hell, everyone I know including alum parents are worried and scared. If your kid is bullied by a kid whose parents give money, you better not expect the school to care about your kids. It’s so materialistic and the book worms are creams socially. Anyone who asks too many questions is shown the exit. Thank I don’t have to deal with it for my daughter’s high school education. 5 years ago, I thought we’d be there the whole 13 years but now I am so happy to leave. The whole place is ruled by who gives the biggest donations and I do not trust them with my daughter’s college admissions.

Slightly off topic but did anyone get meaningful feedback from any of the Hill schools this year?

I heard similar from a current Brearley mom, but maybe not to the extent you are describing.

What, in your opinion, was the reason why the administration was gutted and the head of admissions was pushed out? FWIW, we spoke to Isley, she seemed pretty normal, but that's just one small data point.

None of this is true.
