What is it about McKay that annoys everyone?

I find McKay pretty annoying because in Season 1 she spent the first half of the season explaining things to Javadi and her explanations were often super awkward and TMI. She also had multiple very weird interactions with patients, like when she told the homeless mom about having a drug problem or when she got really aggressive with the patient they suspected might have been sex trafficked. She has actually grown on me quite a bit and I wound up liking her interactions with her son and her dad last season, and find her less irritating this year.

I also think at least part of my annoyance with her was her very aggressive bangs in Season 1, which are toned down into more of a side swept situation this year, which I prefer. The idea of an ER doctor with a heavy bang is totally bizarre to me, you are in and out of trauma rooms and dealing with bodily fluids all day long. I'd want it out of my face and totally unfussy and might even wear one of those caps that surgeons wear (though I get not wanting to wear that for a whole shift).

It's amazing how much bangs change her looks. Almost like Clark Kent taking off his glasses. Did she lose weight as well? Sometimes almost looks like she was recast.

Her face looks bigger. I sort of thought the actress may be pregnant.

All season 1 he was trying to get to the bathroom. This season he just wants his shift to end so that the can go on sabbatical. Dr. Al wants to change his department, get him to read reports, interjects with students when Robby wants them to try to figure it out. Re Langdon, Robby's not over the fact that Langdon stole drugs from ER's patients and department and is basically a lying fraud criminal. And Robby doesn't want to sort through all this stuff on his last shift.

Fun Fact: the actress who plays Dr. McKay (Fiona Dourif, with the bangs) is the daughter of Brad Dourif. Brad Dourif was in Lord of the Rings!

Brad Dourif played the treacherous advisor Gríma Wormtongue, a key servant of Saruman, in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, appearing in The Two Towers and The Return of the King. He portrayed the slimy, manipulative figure who poisoned King Théoden's mind and served the Wizard.

I don’t see McKay and Santos as having the same personality, at all. Both can be annoying, though- although can’t every character time to time?

Santos has a classic surgeon personality - she should go into orthopedics. Her attitude is self-centered and self-confident, most like the surgical resident (? I’m not in medicine so can’t keep their titles straight) who pops in time to time to try and grab every case for her surgery. In fact didn’t she and Santos clash in season 1?

McKay is more caring but worries too much about her patients’ backstories - she is not cut out to be an ER doctor, she should go into primary care.

All of these characters remind me of old ER characters!

She's off the show. It's been officially denied but the rumor is she clashed with the writers during the filming of the previous season.

I didn't hate her character but am finding I don't miss her. I do miss Kiara, not really feeling the new social worker. But where is MATEO is the real question!
