No clubs to add? Did you see the standards they have for adding clubs? It’s a bottom line decision, nothing else.

SYC will not have 2 teams in GA. Would they even want to deal with the mess of having 2 teams at the same level.

They absolutely can - look at Loudoun and NVA. More revenue stream.

They treat those two as separate entities. Agree that the revenue stream would be better it would become a mess in house.

I can see SYC now. Two teams would be 80 girls per age group + mandatory add ons etc + less space for rec programs.

‘Why do people view us this way?’

You would need access to fields which is why NVA/Loudoun is able to do this. Don’t see any other club in NOVA coming close to what Loudoun County has in terms of public fields.

GA and Aspire won’t promote 1 age group team from Aspire to GA. That would mess up the whole system of clubs playing each other at all age groups U13 to U19. While it would be awesome to promote and relegate. The leagues are not set up that way.

You see the clubs that arent big enough to field all age groups in GA showcase events. It gives smaller up and coming clubs a taste of what it's like to play at the highest level and helps them to understand what it takes to compete. Usually this translates into more players for smaller clubs. Ideally there will be a time they can join GA with teams in all age groups.

If arlington was really moving their girls would be at ECNL practices en masse like NVA girls have been in the last two months

This will all depend on if Arlington gets MLSNXT. If this gets approved, its a no-brainer

Would there be enough space on remaining 2 teams to fit those players in? Someone somewhere would need to get dropped to make space.

Sure! BP needs more practice players.

Arlington has been approached by MLS Next for several years. That isn't the reason they aren't switching. If I were Arlington I wouldn't switch for MLS Next. MLS Next is becoming diluted in this area and it gives Arlington the ability to take all the boys that are interested in still playing hs sports. I expect if MLS Next doesnt change the birth date eventually the Majority of Jan-May kids will go to MLS and most of the Aug-Dec Kids will go to ECNL.

Diluted??? or are you delusional?

You do realize the more teams you add the less exclusive the product becomes ? Look at GA in this area now. This dilutes it. It’s not that hard to figure out.

It wouldn't be dilution if by making a an entire club a national league, it brought more kids into the sport at the highest levels. But all these local clubs becoming GA in the last year didn't bring more kids to the sport, it just gave existing teams with a mix of strong and weaker players a national league badge. Individual teams may do well but how are all these GA teams in the area on the whole doing against the rest of the country?

Ask VRSC how they did vs. nat’l competition.

Some did well. Some didn’t.
