Did they hire Jones to do so?

The background screening office is under HR, which has had a series of ineffective leaders.

Can you name them? Is it one person or multiple?

Former HR Chief was April Key who has since lost her job and been demoted so we have her to thank for some of this mess

Background checks cost money. It may have been they wanted to and they were denied the funding.

Denied funding to keep children safe and comply with state law? If so, they need to be named and shamed.

Of course, there is no one to name or shame because no one in MCPS brought this need out publicly because it was a skeleton they were hoping would remain in the closet.

At least we are not Fairfax Co. where Reid wants a full time bodyguard.

School system needs to be broken up. While they discuss regional programs, draw district lines, MoCo school district 1, district 2 etc..

Per MD state law, school districts are at county level (plus Baltimore City), can't go any smaller than that.

Then create a new county. The school district is the largest in MD and it is clearly too big.

Sure, keep us posted on how you're doing with that effort.

And yet, Taylor, Jones and Moran had plenty of time to make their stupid snow day video. Priorities.

I'm an MCPS employee. What really bothered me is that Taylor wrote us a "tongue in cheek" kind of email about the compliance training we had to do. Maybe he was trying to be funny but it really rubbed me the wrong way with all this stuff going on.

Forward that email to the local media. Time is up on Taylor.

The ego my goodness!
Gut out the CO. Those fat paychecks what the F are they for? Did they solve safety issues inside schools? You can't even make an emergency call from some of the schools! What did you do to change this documented problem? Did you bring teachers copier paper? No $ should have been spent for renovations at Gude, or time wasted on making videos or swag when a fundamental and required part of the hiring process was not happening! They don't even have a process to handle mailings that is typical of a central unit - why cant they get mcap reports out within a month of receiving it from the state? The Central office needs a F cell phone policy! Get off your screens and work. File nails at home and spend less time gossiping.

Maybe they can take those off their backs and they can use those shirts to clean inside the mold in classrooms and inside schools?
