OKM is definitely D1T now. Ya’ll ate some serious Wheaties this winter! :D
Yes, the coach has recruited aggressively for years.
That is funny, OKM hasn't recruited a single kid. They are join because we have a great pool and great membership. I can count on one hand the number of kinds that don't go to a local area school.
Yup. They just magically got tremendously better in a year. Honestly if they were presenting themselves in a better manner most teams in D1 would be happy for them, as it is fun to see the top dogs being challenged. It was the same thing with Tuckahoe. Everyone was initially excited for them when they took the top spot but instead they became CB 2.0. Now we have CB 3.0 which is a bummer.
I was at the meet last night and thought it was full of great competition by all of the teams. Super fast times, a lot of cheering, and the kids seemed to be having a great time. I’m not sure why folks are not happy for these competitors. A lot of team records were broken - 22 is what I think the announcer said. I did not see these fights or frothing! It was a good competition with a lot of hand shaking and congratulations, across teams as well!
