You need to speak to an attorney specializing in international custody. As people said above just leaving with your kid could cause issues. There are international treaties that regulate international custody issues, you will not just be able to move your kid without triggering them.

What Trump is doing to the country is insane. Who wants to live in the USA now if they don’t have to?

Similarly, I’ll never understand why so many immigrants from elsewhere opt to abandon their homeland in droves rather than work to fix their country. Nothing will ever improve when the prevailing mentality is “Screw you! I’m outta here!”

It's so bizarre when anyone posts as if the United States was unique in respect to slavery. Most countries participated in slavery at some point. Yes, even Denmark.

Um, I’m pretty sure a lot of countries do that. Or, their variation of it. I was lectured by my BIL who argued that Pakistan is filled with the most logical thinkers in the world. While I’m sure there are plenty of logical thinkers there, it’s a bit grandiose.

The US is a country based on immigration. Even the original native Americans were immigrants themselves. And the diversity of the modern US cannot be matched by most peer nations. We have absorbed large numbers of non white immigrants with remarkable, dare shall I say it, ease. Of course it's not been without tensions but by and large migrants and people of recent immigrant heritages are far more absorbed into American society than they will ever be in Denmark or France or Germany or most other western countries.

I can tell you have an agenda so it's probably wise to end of the conversation here.

This is why the world is in the state that it is. People don’t like where their country is headed so they leave. Then they don’t want to assimilate in the new country. So naturally tensions develop between immigrants and the native population.

This. Research scientists do tend to be open-minded and don’t really think with boundaries. Almost every lab has people from everywhere.
