Given WW3, should we cancel Europe travel plans

Lol. If that's true, then that's great news!!

The US is going to war with Iran because Israel is too weak to fight Iran. This puts a target on all Americans.

THIS. Im the OP.

This makes me so angry. Israel should not start fights it cannot win and then drag us into them.

Hon, stay home and let some brave tourist from another country get that gorgeous Birkin in Paris. Europe will be fine without you!

What are you talking about? I’m in Europe right now actually. Can I not still be angry if Israel drags the US into a war with Iran?!

How fun! You’re in Europe and you.are.so.angry. You should of course be so angry, about Israel, all the time on all the forums. That’s a great use of vacation time.

Some people here cannot be taken seriously. Europeans are going about their lives as always.

We’ve worn out our welcome with bad behavior

Ugh we avoided Barcelona for this reason but are gojng yo one of the other cities. Honestly I would not have gone anyplace I wasn’t welcome but it’s too late to change now. Wish these cities would just decide and let us know!

+France. They are protesting against mass tourism at The Louvre. Too many tourists!

It’s the economy, stupid. Raise prices (say €100 per ticket for the Louvre ticket for non-French citizens). Issue solved.

What the heck! Or maybe they could just fund their museums the way we fund our free Smithsonians? The Louvre is already very expensive.

The State Department always updates their travel advisories:

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories.html/

It is a good idea not to travel to Level 3 and 4 countries without a compelling reason.

The only recent update they have: Don’t travel to Israel.
But there are no flights in or out of Israel for the time being anyway.

DC is a treasure with free museums, few other places have that. But agree, raising prices isn't necessarily the answer. They just need to sell the right amount of tickets for the staff and space they have. I think they already moved Mona Lisa to avoid the mobbing. They also could raise prices. I'd have a hard time sympathizing with someone who can fly to paris but can't afford to support the tourist industry.

I'm spending next month in Paris, I think tourist protests are still just at the Louvre. I'm not worried about WWIII yet.

i

I was saying don’t go to Russia well before Paul Whalen and Brittany Griner were arrested! Basically as soon as Putin stole someone’s Super Bowl ring and no one said boo to him about it, I was like “this is not a country you should travel to.”

No.

Just carry on.

I always stop reading after “hon” and “sweetie” - I have no desire to listen to posters that are both unserious and lame at the same time.

Everything says to cancel given what’s going on? Bombing of US ships? US involvement in military operations in ME. Larger outbreak?

Thoughts??

We all are going to die anyway. Might as well enjoy some gelato and prosecco on your way out faster.
