I have a high schooler who leaves their phone in the car (I can see it in Find My). Explain why your DS can’t do that. |
They’ll forget once. Then they won’t. It’s not like they forget their phones, right? |
This. Employers need to wait to talk to students after school, and that’s a ridiculous reason to keep phones in the classroom. Your kids schedule is in ParentVue, just schedule doctor appt for classes that are less critical. You don’t need a 3-way call with your doctors receptions, your kid, and you to schedule a physical. |
Stealing phones is less common since most are bricked by modern account management. Lock it out sight in the glove box. They |
I know my current high schooler isn’t using her phone during class and isn’t distracted by it. But I will be glad that one of my younger kids will have the phone locked up in a pouch. She is too impulsive and into keeping up with the social gossip.
Having said that, I am not above buying one of the magnets that can open them online in case someone forgets to unlock theirs. Or even send it to school on days when plans may be in flux so I can tell my kid what needs to happen after school. |
Hilarious you think the office knows where a high school kid is at all times. That's not how it works for older kids, honey. |
You think I know when my kid has a test, or a big project due? Or their entire extracurricular or social schedule? Unlike you my kid takes some agency and planning for their life and activities. |
Are you saying the office can’t pull up their schedule and see which class they are supposed to be in? |
You are foisting your irrational fear of phones on everyone else. |
They definitely can use Synergy for this |
How many appointments do you make? I have a kid going to a SLAC and we never had this difficulty in scheduling appointments. You really do a 3 way call? High schoolers get out at 3pm, why can't they call to schedule the appointment then? |
Curious where are your kids? Mine are in their class like 90% of the time. Sure there can be special projects or extracurricular activities like away games. |
For the most part, yes, unless it’s lunch or homeroom, when kids can be anywhere. And if they know where the kid is, they’ll send someone to find them, but they don’t let you go get them. And it can take a loooong time. But no, it’s not impossible. Just annoying. |
Older HS students are not always in a class. It is so obvious you have no idea how high school works. |
Let me ask you this. Do you ever get in the car or leave the house without your phone? |
