It happened to one of my kid’s friends at Wakefield last year. No, it’s not the official policy. Yes, it was by an overeager admin. Thankfully, I don’t think it happened often. |
Sure, I’m sure the story got to you about a kids friend. But this is just such an edge case anyway; vast majority of kids have phones, which is the problem. |
On the parent call for pouches at WL, they said if a kid comes w/out a phone, they will write their name/id number down, and trust the kid until there’s a reason to not trust them. The name/number is being written down in case they are caught with a phone out later in the day. There was no mention of bag searches. |
It’s not rocket science. You have a friend hold your phone during pouch processing; they DO have a phone to put in pouch so no suspicion, and even if bad was searched the no phone student would be in the clear. Hence a bag search is always pointless. I mean contraband “holding” has been a thing for decades. Writing down and netting out more severe punishment for lying is worthwhile. |
the problem is the pouches |
The students in Colorado used their phones to call for help and one student found out about the shooter when his sister called him. I'm so glad these students had their phones so they could do that.
It's awful that our kids don't. |
Yeah that happened /s |
Yeah police only come if they get at least 50 calls. |
