That Takoma Principal

I've met a number of principals in that cluster (not the Takoma one) and they seem fine. This is a weird statement with nothing to back it up.

Issues are kept quiet. I’m sure the people you love are the craziest. If you’re not in the system then you’d never know. Crazies

Again do you have specific issues you can name? There are specific issues with the Takoma principal in this thread but that's three other elementary school principals plus the MS and HS principal you're calling crazy without any specifics.

"Cluster" refers to the management chain with instructional superintendents, not feeder patterns.

These are the schools in Cluster 6:
Amidon-Bowen ES
Brightwood ES
Dorothy Height ES
Garrison ES
John Lewis ES
LaSalle-Backus ES
Military Road ELC
Raymond ES
Shepherd ES
Stevens ELC
Takoma ES
Truesdell ES
Van Ness ES

OK but the issues is if the teachers and staff are not happy, they will leave and that will directly impact your kids and all kids.

Looking the other way helps no one.

The teachers are not leaving en masse - y’all need to calm down!

Not advocating for his weekend working talk, etc, there are boundaries.

But he would not be speaking that way if he didnt care about results in the classroom.

Again no dog in the fight. Just want to see DCPS succeed as a resident.

Unfortunately he doesn’t, he wants his 30-40k bonus but for now he said his lawyer wife is the breadwinner.

DCPS principals get a 30-40K bonus?

Apologies it’s 20-30k

Salary is 136k-237k

Listen I am all for paying teachers and even good principals. But we have to get rid of this weird evaluation system that allows for such bonuses.

Bonus for what? Test scores? Enrollment numbers?

The bonus is for taking credit of the teacher’s and staff in general’s hard work

Folks don’t like working for him, find yourself a job at another school. Complaining on an anonymous website isn’t getting you anywhere.

It sounds like that is what's happening based on this thread.

Kinder team is great this upcoming year. You will love Takoma.

TBD!!! This years’ kinder staff is entirely different than last years. Half transferred to other schools and half switched grade levels. This new team has never worked together and at least one hasn’t completed a teacher prep program. They all seem lovely, but that doesn’t mean highly qualified.

Well now I'm confused - why did the person above say they are great if they're brand new?

He’s not wrong.
