Here's the FARM stats:

So confused why ATS (may be) considered Title I while Innovation and Fleet may not be. I haven't seen the official announcement, but this does seem wrong.

Are the demographics for those schools expected to change? Maybe they will apply after the next boundary changes.

PP said VPI change was made at ATS in 2020. Probably enough history now to see the pattern at ATS.

Fleet and Innovation don’t have the same “status” as ATS to begin with.

It's not a punishment to apply for Title 1 status when the threshold is met. It feels unfair if (IF, bc we don't know) some schools that qualify are getting the extra resources, while other similarly situated schools are not. Make sense?

Not really if title 1 status scares families.

This.

And then we need to ask WHY they are applying for ATS and not the others? Very unfair.

It may scare people from ATS, but Fleet and Innovation aren’t considered top tier to begin with.

What is your point? That if it qualifies for Title 1 but isn't classified as Title 1, enough families will magically move in to change the status to lower FRL? Can you explain what you mean?

I hope this means smaller classes in lower grades.

But don’t the other schools who qualify for Title 1 ALSO deserve smaller class sizes in the lower grades?

No they don't because ATS is the only school worth talking about at ATS. /sarcasm

Title 1 status is both good and bad.

Good that low SES kids can get more resources.

Bad that it may keep wealthier families from applying.

Last acronym is supposed to be APS. Sorry about that.

The FRL is high enough that free meals are available to the entire school.

So ask.
