There is a section on common app for reporting tests scores. AP scores would go in that section In theory, not submitting a score for a class you took should look bad but no one really knows. This is similar to not submitting any SAT or ACT scores when there is really no excuse for not taking post-COVID. Same with resumes. Very mixed opinions on this. |
If you took the AP course and got a grade, you must include AP course and grade in the transcript section with your other courses and grades. You don’t have to take the course to take the exam. You don’t have to report the exam, regardless of whether you took the course. You may report AP exam scores in the Standardized Testing section. You cannot report simply sitting for the exam without including the score. If you report taking an exam, you must report the score. No one care if you took the exam if you don’t report the score. If you take the course but don’t report the exam score? Depends on the school. |
In theory, yes this makes sense. But in practice, no. My current senior was admitted this cycle: to one T10, three T20, 3 T10slacs, and many WL. As a test optional candidate and No AP scores (private school w/out APs). |
In your case, re taking/reporting AP exams/scores, it makes a difference whether your HS offers APs. |
What about the test scores? Why wasn't a private school kid hurt without any standardized tests? |
|
Because their school doesn’t offer APs.
TO for the SAT/ACT is another thread. |
A few questions on summer programs: Were the summer programs at colleges? Did you only include the summer programs for those colleges when applying, or did you include them everywhere? Did the summer programs directly relate to the major? |
