So he always has 3 beers before you go out and then 3-4 when you are out? Every time?

Proceeds to have three or four more drinks at whatever event we are at.

I met him OLD and I'm not really a drinker. I'll have 6 months where I have zero drinks and then 2 months where I have maybe 10 drinks a month.

I like him but this worrys me

You've never heard of pregaming?

Not your husband .. Zero need to tolerate. Especially since your drinking styles don't align.

Move on ..

Sounds like you're overlooking his excessive drinking due to his net work.

You have options!

Agree. If this guy was making $200k, there is zero chance OP would stay with him.

How spaced out are these drinks (six per hour vs six in five hours)?

I don’t drink much any more but when I did, six beers in an evening was no big deal.

Six beers in an evening is not normal never mind not healthy.

Six beers in one sitting is extremely normal. They are sold in 6 packs on purpose.

yeah historically those were 4% low calorie 'pilsners'. no one's drinking those anymore except the latinos.

Budlight is the best selling beer in America and it is 3.8%. I can drink 8 of those on a Saturday afternoon and never get buzzed.

Honest, non-snarky question. Why drink those, if not to get buzzed? They taste like piss.

They only taste like that to you. And if buzzed was the objective, why bother with drinking the 12 ounces? Just do 4 shots in a row and be done.

And 7 beers every day are like a gazillion calories. This must be a fatty. If they want the buzz, just go to vodka and get it done. A heavy beer drinker is going to go there anyway.

I think heavy drinking is a red flag for everyone. If I were dating, I'd check out. You really don't want to get involved with an active alcoholic. Someone in recovery is fine. Alcohol hits people differently, and some need to learn the hard way that it's not for them. But you really don't want to be part of that journey.

About average for a man.

If that's every night, 365 days a year, too much.
If that's once or twice a week, that's nothing.
Moderation.
