Beshear has no name recognition nationwide.

Wrong. He is more well known than Clinton was in 1989 and as well known as Obama was in 2005. If he has that elite POTUS leadership vibe, he'll become well known really fast in 2027 & 2028. If he doesn't, then he won't be the nominee and that's okay.

I live in MD and have never heard of him until Yesterday.

So you are unaware that he is Maryland's Senator? Did you not vote?

Did you actually read the thread? They are talking about Andy Beshear.

Where has CVH ever indicated a desire to run for President?

Van Hollen’s devotion to migrants and non-citizens makes him a very exciting candidate for our party. Flyover states may nit like it, but illegal immigration is Our Values.

Fixed it for you. Stay in school, little one.

He hasn’t but Democrats are desperate for anyone to run, so they latch onto any that make the news. He will be forgotten in 2 months.

Bill Clinton and Barack Obama were both relatively unknown shortly before they before won the Democratic nomination.

Sometimes being a stranger is an asset.

It is he the generational political talent they were?

Hmmm.

Most likely not but that truth is exposed in a primary election. He'd be 70 years old when inaugurated if he ran for POTUS in 2028 and won so age is a factor; especially after 12 years of having very unpopular elderly presidents.

This series of replies is about Andy Beshear - who is NOT going to be 70 years old any time soon!

That’s very different from what some people are trying to imply in this thread - that Van Hollen is doing all this in a calculated manner because he himself wants to be President. There is no evidence of that.

Ah, I see. Beshear is of prime political age and is well qualified with the most relevant experience. He'll have the opportunity to present himself and his platform in 2027/2028. If he emerges as the nominee in a fair and open 2028 primary, he'll be the best possible Dem nominee and someone capable of serving two terms which is an important factor not to be overlooked considering the 2024 debacle.

I only heard of him on this board a few months ago.
Why are you and PP even reading the Politics forum if you don't even know who your Senator is? Like you're interested in political discussions but know so little about politics? Right, I believe you /s

Why are you reading the Politics forum if you can’t understand what you read? Please show me where Beshear was elected a MD Senator. Follow the words and read slowly, you can do it!
