No they aren't generally speaking but any objective impartial person who was presented with the facts of what the American sitting POTUS did while the US's most prominent leaders were under attack a mile away at the US Capitol Building and then you told them that person was re-elected, the objective impartial person would either not believe the info presented to them or they would lose all faith in the intelligence of the American electorate.

Can you just imagine the beat down McCain or Romney would have put on the Dems in a situation where the Dem incumbent had a 40% approval rating and saw his campaign collapse to the extent he had to call it quits just three months prior to Election Day???

From a numbers perspective, the 2024 election results for the Dems were much more favorable than they could have and should have been considering the Biden debacle and we only have the awful opponent to thank for that.

Being new will very much be an asset in '28. The usual Democratic names have proven to be inadequate for the times. That's why people are talking about Stephen Jackson and Mark Cuban and other non-traditional candidates. And no, Van Hollen is not going to lead Democrats to victory. His El Salvador stunt was ill conceived. And if no one new arises, there is a huge opening for AOC. Mainstream DNC Democrats have proven over and over that they do not have a feel for what's going on. People will be looking for a movement leader - like an Obama. Or a Sanders.
