This is the Mayor of New York City who accepted major bribes from a foreign official. Please tell me of cases that were dropped that are a lot worse?
Oh but then again Trump thinks that bribery is OK. How convenient.

Some speculation that Adams is turning evidence on other NY corruption

By whom? I’ve always suspected that the investigation into Adams was still ongoing and the charges we’ve seen so far were the tip of the iceberg. The USA’s resignation backs that up.

She says in her letter they have a superseding indictment ready to go which includes a new obstruction charge.

Thank you I actually hadn’t seen that!

It was a politically motivated case and everyone in NYC legal circles knows it. Adams was asking for it jawing off at Biden the way he was. A lot of you are going to be mad I said this, but it's the truth.

The Acting USA saw a chance to turn herself into this year's Preet Bharara and took it. Smart career move with zero downside and all upside. She was going to end up a big law white collar partner anyway and just moved up the timeline to cash in. I wouldn't call her a hero for it, but plenty of you will.

Whatever, Emil. Have fun telling that to the judge.
(btw, if it was "politically motivated" blah blah - why are you seeking dismissal without prejudice? Why is it important to keep this indictment hanging over Adams' head?)

Um, no. As a NYC city hall employee I can assure you that many of us saw this coming without any "political motivations".

Some of these who resigned are serious conservatives. It would have to have been really bad for them to resign. Like we are turning into Saudi Arabia or Russia or Venezuela bad.

Trying to bribe a prosecutor is illegal.

Wait, bribing a prosecutor? I thought Adam's lawyer was offering for him to do immigration work for Trump in exchange for dismissal. Was this like the scene in Wolf of Wall St where he foolishly tries to bribe the FBI on his yacht but claims he "technically" didn't?

So.....what exactly happens when a judge doesn't permit the case to be dismissed and the prosecutors don't want to advance the case?

Paying per diem and getting a free 2 night hotel upgrade is a major thing over there!?

And a $2k company match is fraud if no one knows where the original donation came from?

And a tour for an official before final inspection is a felony?

Cool beans.
