I don’t blame these attorneys. Who wants to continually put their name and reputation on the line with ill thought out cases with no supporting evidence, little legal standing, and great chance of being overturned or thrown out of court. |
Unfortunately them quitting means they will be replaced by trump loyalists. |
Right I assume Trump chooses the replacements so they will follow orders. |
Sassoon was a Trump loyalist |
No she wasn't. She was just a very principled conservative. |
Nothing. Some odd kickback math not cash or actual monetary exchange. |
Yep - Scalia clerk and Fed Soc. well done Sassoon, in preserving the rule of law. you’re an inspiration and reminder that we can differ in many political views but should ALL defend the rule of law. |
+1 from a criminal defense lawyer. |
You want my guess? If the charges are dropped without prejudice, then the charges can be raised again at a later date by the DOJ. Adams would then have to operate knowing that the charges could resurface again. This allows Trump to own Adams and, therefore, gain more control over New York, a place with people he hates. |
When you’ve lost the Scalia clerk… |
+1 Seriously, my law degree is from Hudson University but anyone should know that presentations to grand juries are always one-sided and inherently partial. Because it’s not a trial. #TheMoreYouKnow |
They drop cases against people who did a lot worse than what Adams did, because it will help them with other cases. Here they would have the cooperation of the mayor of a sanctuary city, which could help in thousands of cases. |
Trying to bribe a prosecutor is illegal. |
If the deal with Adams' lawyers was on the up and up, Bove wouldn't have taken away the SDNY prosecutor's notes from the meeting.
That's a big old red flag, kids. Also, all these other DOJ lawyers - some of whom are Trump's guys - wouldn't be quitting too. |
This is the Mayor of New York City who accepted major bribes from a foreign official. Please tell me of cases that were dropped that are a lot worse? Oh but then again Trump thinks that bribery is OK. How convenient. |
