Yes, I think most places buy these from distributors or Costco.

I was in a group that planned a high end benefit dinner. Two different caterers suggested serving slices of Costco chocolate cake with some raspberry sauce on it. We went with a local baker.

Anyway, I like your idea but how is it linked to tariffs?

Restaurants are going to have to jack up prices and substitute with sub-par ingredients because they are going to have to pay so much more for ingredients, especially produce.

We, the people, are going to have to use our dollars to support the restaurants we want to stay open. I’m personally avoiding wasting my support on corporations like soda companies and Sysco. I want the restaurants to get my dollars for their in-house items.

Cooking is something I enjoy, especially if I am trying out a new recipe

Ledo might be local, but I wouldn’t eat there by choice. I have been there with a sports team. It was terrible, and I wouldn’t care if it went out of business

Their pizza is horrible.

Their crust is tasty but they haven't had a combination of toppings I have liked in a while.

Um, did you know you can customize your own toppings?

They have specialty "seasonal" pizzas. That's the only reason to go.

It’s just odd that you’re like “I don’t like the toppings” and you can literally choose your own.

Their sausage is higher quality than most chain pizza places and they are one of the few that has green olives. The green olives with sausage is very good. I don’t like them as well as I like fancy pizza places but I like them better than basic chains. The kids like them and we get them for parties a lot.

I am not understanding the soda logic at all. If you are ordering soda almost all the money you are spending is going to the restaurant. If you order food, at least as much money is going to the corporations that sold the ingredients to the restaurant.

I will also point out that a restaurant that buys from a local baker, or one that bakes their own desserts and sells them for people to take home will have a label. A label does not consistently mean what you seem to think it means.

Yes this is what I got out of the election. Democrats have worried about others too much. Clearly we should just worry about ourselves and our immediate family and our money. If the stock market does well, then I’ll go to a restaurant. Otherwise I’m eating at home.

Same. Going to cut way back on eating out until I have more job certainty. And when I do eat out, I'll probably pick the cheapest chains that we like.

Someone thinks not ordering soda is sticking it to Big Soda, but the reality is that soda has a 50-70% markup. Restaurants really hate when you just order a glass of water. That signals "cheapskate" to the employees not "health nut."

Restaurants didn't gaf about us. Never improved ventilation. Stopped outdoor dining asap.
So we don't gaf about them. Have eaten on patio in April-Sept maybe 6 times since 2020, $400 tab. We aren't cheap or poor just paranoid.
