Those who enter or reenter the United States without permission, face criminal charges. Why would a child be involved in an IRS audit? The only reason to detain a child is if they are undocumented and need to be removed from the school away from law abiding children. They could also be removed if the parents are deported so they can go with them.

I know Trump is disgusting. I do think it'd be unlikely that he'd come for children in schools. (But possible because he has no morals at all). What I think is far likelier is that he sends ICE to schools at drop off and pick up hoping to catch adult parent immigrants who have committed crimes. of course scaring the crap out of everyone in the process.

I don't like or support this idea but I suppose this will mean many immigrants will not send their kids to schools, and eventually that will either solve the ESL and bilingual staff shortage and probably mean some of those teachers will have to move to gen ed or lose their jobs.
