Who else received a Resist box from Penzey’s?

Maybe you'd rather Elon gave you a free EV.

You are correct that Penzys has every right to drive himself into bankruptcy by alienating so many potential customers. That aside, for those of us who grew up in the 80s and 90s and into the 2010s, we lived in a time when businesses were apolitical and find Penzy's strange and peculiar. And, of course, in the last decades many businesses were under enormous pressure from people like you and the progressive left to espouse "correct" views, so it's a fairly hypocritical stance to be taking.

PP. I've been a Penzey's customer for 30 years and I'm not sure his marketing is on track but there's no end to "corporate speech" and what the truly wealthy are doing to interfere in governance. So I think it's ridiculous to get all upset about a little guy using his business to express himself. As far as I recall, things started getting ugly with the "won't bake wedding cakes for people whose marriages I disagree with" court cases.

Take the spice out of the package and it's just spice. Mail ordering any spices is environmentally destructive anyway. Unless you're growing them in your backyard, you're already at the end of a carbon footprint that isn't necessary.

How wrong you are, he took a stand and basically told those who disagreed he did not need their business. Stupid move for a business owner over our divisive political situation in this country. He has lost customers who will never come back and he will continue to have to close stores, as he just did in my local area. Tough luck, keep you social issues out of my kitchen and we can both be happy. Otherwise I will laugh as your business continues to fall.

PP. You're getting pretty upset over a free box of spice packets. The spice stores are likely closing because small physical businesses have tons of financial issues anyway. I live in a town that has a huge restaurant and boutique district and single product stores like gourmet popcorn stores and cupcake bakeries are always coming and going. We have a Penzey's 10 minutes away and go only a couple times a year.

I don't need the businesses I patronize to make politically correct statements but I do watch to see what they do with their money and marketing. Apparently you do also.

Spices mad over MAGA now.

The Penzey's owner is at odds with his family; he competes with his sister's rival spice company. May explain why he's so angry and bitter.

World would be a much better place if everyone "so angry and bitter" acted like him. Instead of running people over with trucks and shooting kids at school, send free spice packets.

Mixing politics and business rarely ends well.

You don't close stores and do weird marketing mail-outs if you're doing well.

Come on. Penzey’s is political they have always criticized Trump. It’s part of what they do. They know exactly what they are doing.

I just need to know how to get my spices.

And a free packet of random spices will cheer them right up. Nutcase

Well if he was in the business of making bourbon I'm sure he would have sent them that but he makes spices.

We received a free box, I buy and like their spices. So it was a nice surprise and I'm giving them out to folks.

Guess what? If conservatives don't have to make gay wedding cakes or whatever, liberals can do the same thing. You don't have to buy these spices if it bothers you. This is what you wanted.

The complaints about Penzey's remind me of the complaints about Ben & Jerry's. This is what they've always been. Don't buy it if you don't want to. And he didn't ask for your business advice, so I'm not sure why you're offering it to someone you don't wish well anyhow.

Wait, is spewing unsolicited advice how you punish people? You might be on to something.
