Who else received a Resist box from Penzey’s?

1million packets, not 1million households. Use your brain. Penzey is stupid and rich but not that stupid and rich.

Lol 😂 when next year?!

Yup. The “use by” date is January 2027–sort of surprised it wasn’t November 2028.

Should I take your emoji to mean that it’s weird that I start filling a box in my closet with stocking stuffers for next year’s Christmas in January? I’d forget otherwise, I think.

I'm sure your grandchildren appreciate your year old additions to their stockings. Yes that's bizarre grandma.

You seem to be using “grandma” as an insult. Why is that?

I have teens and young adults, and the young adults very much appreciate (unexpired) spices and cooking tools in their stockings. Why wouldn’t they?

Sure they do. They’re just humoring you. No one wants spices in their stocking. Is it next to the underwear and socks?

I'm in the Glenmont area, MoCo. I also buy a lot of spices from Penzeys, so am an established customer.

I’m in Silver Spring. I always order for delivery around the holidays. Their spices make great gifts.

Everyone is different. Some people do want spices as gifts. 2 of my kids put them on their Christmas list.

My older two were really excited about their OXO mini-tongs!

It seems a lot of posters here are unaware this thread is in the Food and Cooking forum.

Sure. I'm sure you are out there buying My Pillows and Cybertrucks.

Penzeys is delicious; I received a free box and plan to offer a few to each person who wants them on my Buy Nothing group on Facebook.

It's a great marketing idea.

And, I felt so seen as a federal employee that I crued when opening the box. Right now I feel like half the country just hates me for existing, so it was a nice message to receive and to give away to others.

If you want to know why people resent federal employees, look up the innumerable stories on "resisting" the democratically elected president during his first term.
AND then read the Constitution...

The bureaucracy is held accountable only through election of the president. When you "resist" the president, you are saying that you hold the power, not the people.

Next read the Chevron decision.

My husband was a federal employee and I appreciate MOST of the efforts of individual Feds, but the system has now grown so large and unaccountable that it needs to be reined in, and this has nothing to do with you. If you get laid off, you will be just like other people who have to look for a new job. All federal employees should be willing to admit that there are many unproductive employees and many tasks that do not add value.

You must not understand how on-line forums work. Someone posts, and then the next person responds to it. If you want to understand why someone said what they said, look above at the quoted post. I think you are the one who made the non sequitur.

I'm in Bethesda and just got a box today.

And I do love Penzey's spices, will keep on being a customer, but sheesh I did not want this box.

Offer it on Buy Nothing or something similar.

That’s cool. Maybe there’s another wave. It’s a good blend. And a good reminder.

I haven’t ordered from Penzeys in several years and a Resist box landed on my doorstep in Rockville yesterday. We just moved to the neighborhood a few months ago and it looks like there are several closet Trumpers on our street so maybe I’ll drop off a few packets here and there. 😆
