I don't agree with the city council on a lot but things are hardly disastrous here. I've lived in Alexandria my entire adult life. No plans to move. My kids love their schools and we love our neighborhood.

Now if they would get rid of the bike lanes on King Street. I got stopped yesterday by the big church on King St for driving in the bike lane with no pylons. Another $50 for Alexandria’s coffers.

If they're not putting in low income housing they're repurposing office buildings low income housing.

They made the busses free, they have free basic income, free internet and free food. The road diets made it impossible to travel by car here unless you want to sit in 40 minute traffic driving 4 miles. The schools are passed capacity. The sewage system is passed capacity.
They have passed on the cost of the new sewer system and massive new schools onto the residents by increasing personal property taxes. So the people with money and nice houses are moving, selling and people taking residence in the low income housing are moving in in droves. Imagine that. Now according to the police and the last few years of crime reports, the crime is though the roof.

All this doesn't not make a nice, safe little city does it?

Us Fairfax County residents are pretty sick of your representative trying to push a casino in our neighborhood. Maybe he should be working on issues in his own neighborhood if there are so many issues. Keep him out of ours.

Real estate is very stagnant here now. It's moving elsewhere in NOVA at a faster pace but city of Alexandria property is already having trouble selling. I'd post some examples but then people would say I'm a realtor when I'm not but you can look it up yourself if you have doubts.

What part of the city of alexandria do you live in? Delray? I question if you really live here or not since but maybe you have blinders on or are very insulated on your block.

So you don't question things like removing laws for panhandlers? So now they're on every street corner?

Yeah, I’m seeing homes in Del Ray sell in less than a week.

I think the city’s leadership is a disaster but there is a lot of misinformation on this thread.

They are talking about Scott Surovell trying to push a Tyson’s Casino on behalf to benefit a large campaign donor. Someone please primary him, he clearly doesn’t care about Alexandria and is willing to sell out his constituents for campaign donations.
