Yayy… let it snow |
I need it to be enough that I can legitimately work from home. Crossing my fingers. |
I’d rather it a week or two later. |
Why not both?? ![]() |
We don't need it because schools need to be open. If you want to discuss the joys of winter storms, do it on the Off Topic forum. Doing it here just means you want schools closed. Lazy. |
Do you really want to have school in very late June? |
If snow comes, it will be 5+ inches. Schools will be closed if there is snow because half of it will come Sunday night. In addition, the snow will continue throughout the day and into the night, after snowplow shifts end. They won't get around to plowing it until Tuesday/Wednesday, and not before middle schoolers go to school, so school will be cancelled for AT LEAST two days. Please plan accordingly. |
Huh? There are 13 built in snow days. |
You = nOOb |
I think we will have 4 inches sunday/monday, and it will close schools monday. Tuesday will likely be open but it may be a delay. My kids are young and I can work from home, so I am in a good spot for this but I am excited! Snow days were such a feature of my childhood and I want my kids to experience it too. |
LOL, someone is a real crank. |
We have had so little snow in the last couple of years so I would be happy to have it BUT, I agree that the snow days would be better a week or two later. But then, I also appreciate all the random holidays and other days off sprinkled throughout. My kids work really hard between school and extracurriculars and they can really use any breaks they get. They don't need the break this coming week but they will still be happy to have snow! |
Who do you say this for? I don't get the point of issuing this as a command. |
“Built in” happened when they started counting the ten minutes in getting off busses and walking to class in the morning and the ten minutes in the afternoon walking to the bus as “instructional time”. There are actually fewer days and fewer hours in the calendar since they made that change. Your kids are getting less education as a result. Every snow day just reduces it further. |
Okay. But it also means that snow days in January will not extend the school year in June. |
