+1 well stated

Not surprised to see this at all.

What? This wasn't an outside shooting. A Christian student shot other Christian students.

I mean, there are only so many things the non-religious can protect her from. If the call is coming from inside her house, she'll have to deal with it herself.

None of our kids are safe from this. Public. Private. City. Suburb. Elementary through HS.

Nothing will change, but I can’t wait to hear more arguments about why we should all be mourning a CEO when we don’t even do a damned thing about children getting killed.

I hate everything about this and if you think we shouldn’t even try to pass laws because shootings will happen anyway then you’re an absolute moron because why have laws at all if they are going to be broken? Do you think we should also give up on stopping drunk driving or bank robberies?

Cue all the idiotic arguments as to why it’s “too soon” or “guns don’t kill people.” I’m sure that will console these families with one less loved one to open gifts with on Christmas morning.

Will the Rs care? Did you care about the healthcare guy?

There’s plenty of money.

As Chris Rock said about the CEO: "Sometimes drug dealers get shot."

Any new details? I haven’t seen anything new, other than it was a handgun, a teacher and a student were shot,

It’s true about the state but school funds have not increased for inflation in 15 years. I did not like the implication earlier that my district is mismanaging funds. WI schools are underfunded. I vote and others do as well but due to gerrymandering the legislature does not represent the actual party percentages of the state. I do think that Governor Evers is trying his best in difficult circumstances.

I heard it was a ‘former’ student.

It’s reported that it was a student who was in school today.

The website for the anti-violence organization Everytown for Gun Safety shows that there have been at least 202 incidents of gunfire on school grounds, resulting in 56 deaths and 147 injuries, in 2024. That data doesn’t include the latest shooting in Madison.

Not even a little bit, but he was a white collar criminal who caused a significant amount of harm to others and the other victims are school children. The rich who control the country don’t care about the latter though.

Is the shooter from the school? Because this goes against the “we need more god to prevent gun violence” argument.

Sounds like it was a female student yes
