Never would have married a woman dumb enough to vote for her. |

My mom is 74. She and my dad always voted together, for the same candidates. My dad lead this charge - he felt that if they voted different from each other, their votes would "cancel each other out" and they might as well not vote at all. Both were Regan conservatives, and solidly good citizen types until Trump came into the scene. I think they couldn't deal with setting down their "Republican = good Christian values" identity and therefore ended up supporting Trump. That, and it does boil down to them voting single issue on being anti-abortion. (Which. . .as an aside. . .makes me laugh at seeing Harris supporters get labeled as single-issue pro-abortion voters. . .since being single issue on that is what lead my parents onto the Trump train. . .ironically). I couldn't recognize my parents any more - the things they started saying and supporting was unrecognizable compared to who they were when they raised me & the values they held.
Fast forward to this year. . my father passed away in February, and this is literally the first ever election where my mom will decide for herself who to vote for without any influence from him. . .She was not oppressed by my dad. He just had stronger opinions and she went along with them for the sake of harmony. I'm starting to see a shift in her rhetoric too. . .and while I think she still won't vote for Harris, I think this ad speaks to and about women like her, and I think there are many out there. |
I guess as a woman I don't give a s**t about myself or my own two daughters. |

There are Harris operatives on TT who are challenging women Harris supporters to break up with their husbands/boyfriends if they vote for Trump. It’s a form of emotional abuse.
I haven’t seen anything like that or heard anything like that from the Trump campaign. Not talking about internet trolls. Only authentic posts. |

Even the Daily Show thinks that ad is demeaning to women. |
| My DH is kinda mad. But, my vote my choice. What's he gonna do? He's not even registered to vote. |
His hypocrisy is mind blowing. Hope you pointed this out to him. |
Did you sit with her to fill out ballots? Did you early vote together? |
And I would have never married a Neanderthal that viewed me as property. |
I don’t think that is a great strategy for the Harris campaign. But as a female with daughters (and fortunately with a husband that supports women’s rights), a man that is voting for Trump does not care about women’s rights. So it is definitely something to think about. |
