Ditching the post isn’t enough.
If you really care- you have to stop using Amazon. If you actually want to send a message - you have to not use AMAZON |
I don't understand why people are upset. The WaPo reporting provides a running endorsement of Harris.
Any given day the top articles are a split of how Trump is bad and Harris is good. |
They've already hired new people from the London Telegraph. |
Billionaires trying to buy our elections is out of control. The interests of Jeff bezos are not the interests of the rest of us. |
Okay I guess bezos will pay them because they certainly don't have as many subscribers to do that. |
Bezos is just jealous than Elon is getting copious amount of attention lately and since Bezos' own empire is accomplishing a small fraction of what Musk's empire has already accomplished, he decided it was time to make a splash. |
Bezos wife or fiance or daughter or girlfriend of his son..... None of these people are ever in a million years going to have to bleed out in a parking lot because of some state law interfering with their health care. He has nothing to do with you or your family. |
I canceled my subscription already and am not changing my mind. Bezos trying to defend himself does influence my thoughts on the matter. In fact, its very existence is evidence of why I canceled - because Bezos controls the Post, and the Post no longer has any journalistic integrity. |
Gee, what a surprise. It's a little dick measuring contest at the end of the day. |
The timing is really what's making this into a big thing.
The actual decision is really not radical or horrible. I still don't understand why some people feel journalists have any responsibility of endorsing candidates for election. They aren't the judge and jury of anything, truly. All they should do is provide 411 on what's happening in the world and publish opinions from different perspectives. Once you get involved in endorsements you are suggesting that there is a perspective that paper feels is better than another. That's not journalism. |
of course you did. You mean to tell me you had a NEWSPAPER subscription in 2024??? Who subscribes to a newspaper in 2024??? |
We thought about cancelling our subscription. However, we realized that it really doesn't have any consequences to Bezos and only hurts all of those reporters trying to do the right thing. His investment is nothing compared to that of Amazon. Even then, cancelling anything other than AWS on a mass scale wouldn't move the needle. He should be shunned from DC events and excluded from polite society -- that's at least something he probably somewhat cares about. |
Can any of you supporters please respond to the actual claims about corruption? It’s like we keep on explaining that the issue isn’t about media endorsements in general but rather the timing and inconsistency of this position and yet you only respond about whether endorsements should be a thing or not. |
I can't believe people think cancelling their subscription will impact at all. Such a joke.
It's the same with climate change. Folks who think if they just do their part and change 10 bad habits to same the world that that will do it. Whatever! There's a reason he has a billion dollars and almost all of us do not. Just accept this and move on. Get angry about more important matters and spend energy where it can impact. |
I laughed out loud at his use of “principled.”
He’s delusional. |
