DS cheated and the teacher won't allow extra credit

Oh, your goal is to destroy your child and make sure he is never ready to be a member of society? This is the most asinine post I’ve read.

OP

Your kid does not belong at an elite college.

You put too much pressure on him.

Or he’s just a cheater twat.

Either way this is on you as a parent,

The teacher should not have to do
More work bec you raised an entitled kid.

I am desperately hoping this is a joke.... Your comment has to be a joke. You/your son is what is wrong with our youth. You will thank this teacher later in life that they taught your son a lesson that you're too weak to teach them. Accept the grade and move on.

I used to teach at a community college. At least once a semester I'd catch someone cheating. And I was an **easy** teacher. Tons and tons of extra credit, multiple chances to redo things, etc. But still... invariably a kid cheated. For a first time offense it was just a zero on the assignment and a report to the academic affairs office. Second offense was failing the class and a permanent note on their school transcript about why they failed that class.
This is the time for your kid to learn, OP. Please don't make his college profs (at a community college or a T10) teach him.

At a private school he'd have been kicked out of school, with a note on his transcript for the colleges he applies to.

Maybe you don't want to be greedy, OP. The apple apparently doesn't fall far from the tree!

It sounds like you are the problem. Getting a B is not the end of the world. But, knowing this about you, you will probably email admin and get them to force the teacher to change the grade. What are you teaching your child? That cheating gets them As. And that cheating has no consequences. Great job mom.

I keep saying this, but this is why teachers are leaving.

Good! Your child will learn actions have consequences which apparently YOU aren't teaching them!
