Lol, I'd like to know why petite pants are sometimes up to 4" too long on me when I'm only 2" shorter than the tallest petite...5'4.

Perhaps the most extraordinary person I know OP is 5’3” as an adult man. He may solve the antibiotic resistsnce crisis in the news this week as potentially killing 50 million by 2050. I am guessing his inseams are on the order of 30”.

Are you really this shallow? I am going to hope this was a silly moment of yours. For my own sake.

6’00” here and wear 30.

I’m 5’7” and my inseam is longer than my 6’4” DH’s. My legs are super long but I can wear petite tops because my torso is sooo short. Adjusting the driver’s seat in a car is ridiculous.

People are different.

I’m 6’, and often 32” is a little long (frayed hem), and 31” is basically extinct, so 30” is the least bad choice. I suspect that a lot of the 30” buyers would fit better in 31”.

People and men.... come in different sizes! What a novelty!

That seems inequitable.

Yes. My dc is 5'10 and wears 30, sometimes 32" inseams. The fit, style and cut of the pants affects wear they hit in length.

Short?? No man in my family is over 5' 6".

Are you OP? Your comment is as silly as hers. The height of your particular family is irrelevant to the population average.

Nope, not OP.

You silly goon, you!

Consider:
Michael Phelps. Height. 6' 4" or 193cm
Haile Gebrselassie 5' 5" or 164cm

Now consider that Gebrselassie has a longer leg measurement than Phelps. Gebrselassie has the leg length of the mean of a 180cm tall person, while Phelps has the leg length of a 176cm tall person.
Don't feel sorry for Michael as he has size 14 (Europe 48 - 50) feet, and his ankle has 15% more flexibility than other elite swimmers - but a whopping 30% more flexibility than the normal population. So with his super short legs, super long feet, plus Dolphin tail flexibility, this gives him great power in his legs.

While Gebrselassie's ultra long legs helps him have an amazing stride length without effort. Add to this his tiny 54kg or 119lb body weight. To put that weight into perspective, Nicola Spirig is not big for a world class ITU female athlete, however on race day she is the exact same weight as Gebrselassie.

Phelps inseam is 30”
Haile Gebrselassie inseam is 32”

I'm a 5'9" woman with a 34" inseam. There are no pants for me. Be glad men have options.

Ditto this exactly. My DS is 5’10” and wears either a 30 or 32. More often a 32 but 30 sometimes. Depends on fit, style, cut, footwear he plans to wear with them etc. my DS doesn’t have an odd build or anything either- very average looking teen boy.

I’m 5’11” and wear 30” inseam. I have a long torso. 31” would be perfect but no one sells them. 32” always is too long and bunches up on my shoes.

Sure I could get 32” hemmed, but it’s another $20-25
