Shouldn't she count on law enforcement like everyone else is supposed to?

Count on LEO to do what exactly? You’re dead and your daughter has been raped twice before LEO arrives to do the forensics.

Q: What would happen if someone broke into your home?

Old Democrat answer: "We all have a responsibility to create the kind of communities where..."

New Democrat (Harris/Walz) answer: "I have a gun. I'd shoot them dead."

Suck it, MAGA.

I said this a long time ago - have blacks start talking about owning guns and stand your ground and open carrying and forming militias and packing AR-15s on streetcorners and watch the Republicans suddenly start talking about gun control...

She is desperately seeking votes from white men but she needs to realize she will never get the majority of white men to vote for her and she should stick to the Democratic base. She really needs to tone it down trying to cater to white men.

Also as someone who was raised abroad I to this day do not understand this country’s obsession with guns. It seems rather barbaric.

Aww Boo. You don’t know what you’re talking about. She is not pandering to white men, as if. She is speaking her truth and it’s obvious her experiences are not your experiences. And maybe you should not come to another country and call the people barbaric. Take your ass back to where you crawled from if you think it’s so much better. And don’t let the door hit you while leaving.

Thank you for proving my point. Indeed a barbaric country with barbaric people like you living in it.

DP.

I just love it when effete foreigners condescend to lecture us on how to be more civilized.

It's most amusing.

This definitely looks like pandering to the aspects of the country that consider gun ownership and vigilante justice to be signs of strength. I can accept pivoting on certain policies, but this is starting to look like popularity, not values,
is all that guides her. Doesn’t augur well for her actual administration. What will she flip-flop on to secure reelection, for instance?

Its not pandering to be in the "grey zone" between Maga and progressives. She is for gun reform and also has a gun, which is safely stored and registered etc etc to use for personal home protection. Nor would it be if she went hunting and had hunting rifles.
Thats not a wild stance by any means.

You haven’t got the slightest idea whether Kamala’s gun is “registered” anywhere (not that registration contributes an iota to reducing the criminal misuse of firearms), or how she stores it.

Chances are, given that she lives in a fortress, surrounded by law enforcement personnel armed with actual “assault weapons” and other “weapons of war,” she isn’t keeping or carrying a personal firearm much these days.

As an attorney, she should know that at least in the vast majority of jurisdictions, the mere entry by a trespasser into a home does not, in and of itself, justify the use of deadly force by the homeowner.

You understand that the NRA is a private organization right? It has nothing to do with general gun ownership, has been a barrier to common sense gun safety laws, and is in fact evil. That doesn't mean everyone who owns a gun is also evil. Will Republicans please try to get your heads out of your asses?

+1 somehow republicans have conflated basic gun safety measures with the culture woad and our kids are paying the price with daily school shootings.

+1. Responsible ownership of a hand gun by someone who hasn’t been convicted of a crime or been adjudicated as mentally unstable vs collecting semi automatic weapons you leave unsecured around kids and have your kids pose with for the Christmas card photo are very different things. Heck, some of the school shooters are minors with known mental health issues using semi automatic weapons * that their parents bought for them*. Not the same as a public figure getting threats having a licensed handgun (it would have to be in VA) because she has a legit need for personal protection.

As DA of SF and AG if CA, she would have clearly gotten credible threats and had only sporadic protection from state and local LEOs. Look at what happened to Paul Pelosi. His wife is the next person in line for the presidency after the VP and I’m sure she gets an enormous number of threats. But, her house and spouse were completely unprotected. TBH, Paul Pelosi needed a handgun.

I don’t want a handgun in my house. The alarm system and the loud, seemingly protective dog (bark much worse then bite, but likely would protect me if I seemed threatened) are fine in my safe suburban neighborhood. And I’m a novice without any interest in gun training. Statistically, I’m more likely to have the gun used against me than use the gun. But if I had here past jobs and got credible threats, I’d get a handgun and get decent training.

I don’t know where you get your information about firearm laws, but you really don’t have a clue what you’re talking about.

That's today's answer. Who knows what tomorrow may bring. Which way is the wind blowing?

She got the gun when she was a CA resident, when she was a DA, AG and Senator and a target, and did not have SS protection. Given that she was the DA then AG, I am 99.99999% certain she followed any applicable registration laws. Why wouldn’t she. It’s not like she a felon and can’t own a gun (looking at you Orange Clown).

And since 2020 she has lived in a fortress. Before then? She had a high profile job involving criminals and likely no 24/7 security. I’m okay with the handgun.

Meant CA, where she was a resident.

Reminder: Kamala Harris has no business being President of the United States. Until recently, not even Democrats doubted that. She is incompetent and a moron. If she is elected, things will not get better. Rather, they will get worse. A vote for Kamala Harris is a vote for continued failure and decline, and you will have to listen to her utterly idiotic ramblings while it happens.

Does she have an NRA card to go with her six-shooter?

Yes, absolutely and 100 percent.

She is placing her stepdaughter and husband at tremendous risk of being shot by the loaded gun she is keeping around the house, statistically that is.

Reminder to some of the PPs above, Kamala Harris has been Vice President, a United States Senator, and Attorney General of the most populous, diverse state in our union. She's got more foreign policy experience than any president had since at least 1989, when George H.W. Bush was inaugurated. Spare us the "unqualified" B.S. If she's unqualified, then no president in my lifetime has been qualified.

And on guns, she reminds me of nearly every gun owner I know -- and I know many -- in that she understand one can own a gun and still advocate for reasonable restrictions, any suggestion to the contrary is utterly false.
