Not really bingo. There are almost precisely 75% as many D1 slots for boys as girls, and the delta on h.s. participation is about 10%.

It does seem like girls' parents are more willing to shuffle their kid off to a school less than a week into recruiting contact, but I don't know what the running totals are for girls. Right now, it's about 70 for boys excluding academies, and that includes a lot of reclasses. A couple schools have filled up half their classes, but not many. Quite aways to go, it's early.

There are about 6 schools where told my son he did not need to clear the commitment with us before deciding—UVA, UNC, Duke, Harvard, Princeton and Yale. Did not include ND because of location but it probably deserves to be on the list.
